The sun is rising. I wake up slowly. Ao Bing went home to get things sorted. I sit up. I kind of miss him in bed. I gasp in a breath of fresh air. I put my feet on the bedside. Everything changes today. Today I start my own life. Today I leave Doung Hai. I will no longer have to suffer this wretched city. I'll be free. I can go see the world.

I put on my shirt. I put on my leather jacket. I take out a small bag. I put some clothes in it. I also put my spear in it. I should just go. I shouldn't tell anyone about this. They don't need to know. I write up a note on a piece of paper. I creep into Kasha's room. She's asleep and so is my brother. I put my note down. It's just better if I go.

I walk out the door to my bike to see Ao Bing is waiting for me. I let out a chuckle.

"You're so slow." He says.

"Nice car." I throw him my bag.

He lets out a small chuckle. He throws it in the car back. I get on my bike.

"Did you tell your dad?" I ask.

"Did you tell yours?" He looks at me.

I look away.

"I left a note." I say.

"Same." He gets in the car.

"You two lovebirds ready?" Sun Wukong says on his bike.

"Where to?" I ask.

"Anywhere. She's going to be far far away from the city." Sun Wukong starts forward.

I turn back to the hospital. Ao Bing nods at me and we both shoot out into the sunset. We're free. We can go anywhere we want. We no longer have to be in someone else's dark shadow. We are our own masters.

The End.
