A/N: This takes place sometime after Warhammer and Reina parted ways, but still awhile before the ending of the previous chapter.
A/N #2: Oh, did I say this was a one-shot? Haha, nope, I lied.
Reina is running through the streets of a new town, a small mob of people chasing her. "Jeez, people in this place are far more persistent than back home" she groaned, gathering her strength and jumping on to a nearby roof. Turning back to face the mob, she mockingly bowed, the sack filled with stolen gold held firm in her hand. "Thank you for your co-operation" she said before leaping from rooftop to rooftop, now easily outpacing the group. It wasn't until she was many streets away she felt like she was being followed. Skidding to a stop, she turned to see a man in plane white with a full face masquerade mask leaping from rooftops, definitely following her. "Ugh, who's this weirdo" she groaned, kicking off the rooftop and ending up another three streets away. When she turned back again, she saw the person had vanished, and she assumed they gave up. It was then that a humanoid dropped down in-front of her, startling Reina to kick towards the stranger.
The stranger tumbled a bit away, surprised at the strength behind the kick. "Alright, who the fuck are you and why are you following me?" Reina demanded, staring down at the stranger. "Who I am is none of your concern" they said, raising to their feet. "You are a criminal who stole from innocent people, and I am here to bring you to justice." Reina gave the man a stunned look, before a loud laugh escaped her throat, followed by her doubling over laughing. "Oh god, that's too funny!" She cried, small tears escaping her eyes. "You? Capture me? Keep dreaming, shithead." The man let out a annoyed sigh, raising to his feet and clapping his hands together, sending a small *boom* sound throughout the area. "Room" he commanded, a semi-transparent blueish dome surrounding the pair. Reina walked towards the wall, placing a hand on it before instantly pulling back. "A magic barrier. How truly annoying" she groaned, turning back to the man. The two stared each other down, trying to gauge the others next action.
Reina struck a match, confusing the stranger, until it fell to her feet. A moment later, her legs up to her knees were covered in swirling flames. "You know your on fire, right?" The stranger asked. "That's the plan" she joked. The man blinked, and the next thing he saw was a flaming leg headed straight for the side of his face. Reacting quickly, he formed a blade of ice, using it to block Reina's attack. "A mage. Should have guess from the barrier" the Ravenette sighed. Using her other leg, she kicked off the ground, somersaulting over the mans head and dropping to a crouching position behind him, kicking his legs out from under him. It was then she noticed he wasn't dressed in all white, and instead wore a long white trench coat. The bottom of the coat was now burning, and the man hurriedly attempted to put out the flames, leaving him wide open. Reina took the opportunity to finally strike him in the head, cracking the mask he wore, and sending him across the area into the side of his own barrier.
"Done yet?" She asked, the flames on her legs licking upwards slightly. The man shook his head to clear it, pushing himself to his feet and tossing aside his coat to let the flames consume it. Now standing in-front of her without the coat, Reina could make out his physique quite well. As suspected he was male, with well defined muscles, a tightly pulled black shirt and white pants, and instead of boots or something more suited for combat, he wore sandals. His light brown hair, formerly tied back, now hung low and long around his neck, and the cracks in his mask revealed she'd burnt him slightly. "So you're human" she growled, her stance shifting into a much more aggressive one. "You could say that" he said. That one sentence confused Reina long enough for the man to make a vertical swipe motion, sending a torrent of ice towards the woman. The size and surprise of the attack left her with no time to dodge, leading her to trapped up to her neck in ice.
"Quite impressive. Not only did you hit me three times, but forced me to use more advanced magic to subdue you" the man said, standing atop his ice looking down at Reina. "Well, you caught me. What's the next step in your plan, smartass" the Tiefling spat, glaring up at the man. "Gonna leave me here for someone to find? Wanna go cash in that bounty on my head? Or you wanna cut off my wings and horns and sell those?" The man knelt down on the ice, looking Reina dead in the eyes. Piercing blue met sea green, and it was clear both parties had momentarily lost the ability to speak. Finally, the man cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his head. "I will be returning what you've stolen, before turning you over the the proper authorities" he said. "Hmph, mid plan" Reina said. "For starters, maybe try rethinking how you trap someone with the ability to regulate their body heat." The mans eyes widened under his mask as the ice cracked, and he suddenly received a heel to the bottom of the jaw. Spinning head over heels backwards, he crashed into his own barrier again, this time loosing focus enough for the thing to dissipate.
