Riley cowered in the corner, her hands over her ears as something continued to whisper and cold air ghosted over her skin She heard something crash to the left of her and felt hands on her and she screamed louder.
"Riley! Riles.........it's us. You're safe. You're okay."
She heard Ryan's panicked voice and lifted her head, their blurred faces coming into view slowly.
"Let's get her out of here. Wyatt and I will come back to get everything later."
River reached down and helped Ryan lift her off of the floor, his heart beating fast in his chest as he felt his sister's shaking frame against him. "Riley? Come on. Talk to us. You're freaking us out." He said quietly as they led her out of the cabin and into the dark night.
Flashlight in hand, Wyatt hurried around them to the car and opened the back door as they helped her inside. Ryan closed the back door and slid into the driver's seat, turning on the heat.
"I'm going to get her some water." Wyatt said softly before walking back to the trunk and grabbing a bottle of water and a blanket.
Riley blinked slowly from the warmth of the vehicle.
"Come on, sis. You're okay." River's shaky voice practically begged as he took her cold hand. "She's freezing." He sat beside her in the back seat and draped the blanket over her, tucking it around her shaking form.
"Can you talk to us, Riles?" Ryan asked softly as he hovered in the space between the front seats.
".....man....." She whispered.
"Man? Billy?" Wyatt asked from the passenger seat.
"We were getting something about a 'him' from that room." Ryan explained as River started trying to warm their sister up, his hand running up and down her arm.
"Wait.....guys.......are those bruises?!"
The interior light went on instantly and they all looked at her wrist. Riley blinked at the sudden bright lights of Wyatt's flashlight and the overhead light.
"Holy shit! Those are fingerprints! Like a hand wrapped around her wrist!" Wyatt exclaimed.
"Oh my god!"
"Guys, we need to get our shit and get her out of here. We need to go back in and close it so nothing follows us home and get her saged." Ryan looked at the others and nodded. "Stay with her, Riv. We'll go grab our stuff and then come back."
"Take your phone and get a picture." Wyatt said as he climbed out of the vehicle and closed the door.
River snapped a few photos and pocketed his phone. "Riles.....we're going back home soon. Ry and Wyatt went back inside to get all the stuff so we can get out of here." He adjusted the blanket over her. "It's going to be okay. We're going to get back to the house."
Less than ten minutes later, the interior lights came on again as Ryan and Wyatt opened the back hatch.
"Let's get everyone saged and get the fuck out of here." Ryan said, his jaw set.
"What happened?" River asked quietly and stopped as he saw the anger in his twin's eyes . He glanced at Wyatt who shook his head slightly.
The back seat door opened and Ryan took Riley's hand. "Come on, Riley. We need to get you out and close the communication. After that, we'll leave."
The younger twin helped their sister out of the car slowly and the small group walked back to the start of the path to the cabin. Ryan wrapped his arm around his sister and kept her close to his body, both for warmth and for protection.
"You are not allowed to follow us home. You can't hurt us anymore. You have no hold over us." Ryan's words floated around them as Wyatt ran the sage around each of them.

An hour later, the car pulled into a well lit gas station.
"I've got to pee and figured we'd grab some food." River said as he turned in his seat.
Riley lifted her head from the door frame and exhaled, feeling some of the tension leaving her body.
"Do you guys want anything?"
She shook her head and watched as the brothers exited the car.
"What can I do?" Wyatt's quiet voice asked from the front, his gaze on the near empty parking lot.
She swallowed and shook her head. "Nothing. I'm fine."
"Bullshit." He said and turned in his seat to look at her. "What happened?"
"Whispering." Riley cleared her throat as if to stop her voice from shaking. "Something touched me."
"Are you hearing anything now?"
Riley shook her head and met his dark eyes.
"Good. And if you do......and you don't want to tell your brothers.....you tell me." He said seriously. "That shit is serious. I know."
The girl nodded.
"Promise me."
"I will."
He nodded after a long second. "And if you need to talk.....you know I'll listen."
"The boys are pissed at me."
"No, they aren't."
"They had to leave because of me. It was my fault that we left. "
"That's bullshit and you know it." Wyatt said, his voice tense. "You know thats not true at all. They're worried. We're all worried. But its not your fault. We've left plenty of places because shit got intense. Hell....we've left because of me before."
The overhead light came back on as the boys entered the car. "I've got chips and beef jerky for Wyatt. Riley, I got you a Coke and a granola bar." River smiled as he handed them out. "How are you feeling?" He asked worriedly.
"I'm fine. Thanks." Riley smiled weakly. She sat her items down in the cup holder as the twins climbed back into the car. She glanced at Ryan next to her and nodded. "Really."
He watched her for a long second as if trying to gauge if she was telling the truth.
River started the car and pulled out of the gas station back onto the interstate. Riley closed her eyes and listened the music as it lulled her to sleep.
