Joule stayed up since meeting the detective's late last night and whenever her morning alarm blared at 𝟲:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠, although tired, she hopped right up and straight into her morning shower.
With the towel wrapped around her securely, Joule went over to the sink with an instant retrieve of her toothbrush and starts brushing her teeth. Attempting to get her mind off her reality, Joule hums the Anita Baker classic song she and her mother would listen to every morning with her eyes looking over the counter, until she realized something missing.
Always next to her facial cleanser rested her hair brush. Spitting out the mouth foam of toothpaste into the sink, the running water sending it down the drain, Joule darted her eyes over the counter, bathroom, cabinet, and nothing. Joule wasn't one to misplace things and the kinda brush she uses for her type of hair Chloe doesn't use. Typically, Joule would've took it as losing track of it, but everything she recently learned lately the seventeen-year-old knows someone was inside her room last night.
Quickly rising her mouth, Joule doesn't care to moisturize her skin at the moment, rushing into her room to slip into the tan cropped sweatshirt and black washed jeans. She jumped slightly to button them close, then going over to pack her satchel bag full of clothes and toiletries that fit inside, having no plans of returning after her brush missing. That was just confirmation on someone other than Solan knowing she was a Preston and she wasn't gonna play with her life any longer than she has.
Grabbing her phone, Joule connected it to the earbud she placed in her ear and called Detective Childs, while stuffing her phone in her back pocket. Two rings and Akil answered. "Someone knows," she reveals instantly, "what do I do?"
Akil was on the highway in Edi's Camaro, gesturing for him to cut on the siren lights to get back to Gove City with speed. "We just left your case worker, Joule. She's on the way, and so are we. Do you remember I told you to act normal?"
"Yeah." Joule responds, as she heard a vehicle pulling up in the driveway.
"I need you to do that still and go to school. Your case worker will handle getting your bags."
Joule heard her, but don't respond with her gaze locked on the window. She peered out of the blinds, seeing a luxury SUV parked with the doors closing in unison. Justice was the first face she seen, but he was with two other people. The tree was in her way and she wasn't able to see them since they went straight under the cover of the porch.
"Joule?" Akil asked in her ear, "Are you there?"
Joule snapped her gaze from the window, whispering, "Justice is here."
"Okay, Joule, I need you to stay normal. That's important."
"Y-yeah," she stutters, overhearing Sheryl greeting her family downstairs. Joule walked over to the door, cracking it open to hear them clearer.
"Y'know I had to come show my face," the voice she'd never forget shocked her body, paralyzing her at the door.
"Everybody has a choice," Joule recalls the baritone saying before her father screamed for her to run.
"Oh-h my G-god.." Joule voice shook, closing the door quietly. "H-he's here."
"Who's there, Joule?"
