𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆.

The fact it was the first day of a another month and the seventeen-year-old was waking up in a Murphy bed inside a used-to-be firehouse at 𝟲𝗔𝗠 mind-boggled Joule. She would have at least been smoking a blunt with Chloe, but now Joule was alone again.

Joule's mind reverted back to the group home. The way she would lay awake for hours to listen and be alert if needing to defend herself. But this time around there was quietness. Not even a peep. She started to wonder if the cops watching after her left. But a faint yawn on the bottom level told her she wasn't alone and they were present.

The seventeen-year-old didn't really know what to do. The only thing that crosses her mind to do was taking a shower to occupy herself. But all Joule brought along was a few pair of clothes, her shut-off phone, body wash, and storage key. But no towels.

Joule was gonna have to grow a pair and go ask the officers downstairs. She walked down in the same outfit from yesterday, approaching the male's light and tired conversation in the lounge space connected with the kitchen. She noticed the blankets on each couch, the officer's giving her the room alone, respecting her space.

Darnell pours himself a cup of coffee, as Wes brushed his teeth at the sink. They heard footsteps, getting their gazes to look Joule's way. "Morning." The officer in charge greets her, "Coffee?"

"Uhm, no, thank you." Joule declines respectfully, "Just wanted to know if you have any bathing towels."

"Oh, yeah. Akil keeps it stocked. There's a linen closet in the bathroom."

"I guess I should've looked there first." Joule chuckles awkwardly, "Thanks. Do you know when Akil's coming back?"

      "I can call her in."

Giving an appreciative nod, Joule walked back up, retrieving her satchel and off to the bathroom..

Joule's after shower routine was ruined. She normally would moisturize, handle her skincare. But now, that was over. She left everything back at Sheryl's, having to depart out so quick. The next best thing was washing her face with a separate towel opposite of the one she cleaned her body off with and remain ashy and dry under the Nike Sportswear Phoenix Fleece sweatshirt and matching sweatpants. Not having the necessary tools to upkeep her lace-front, she secured the bandana around her crown and the wavy tresses cascading after her shoulders.

Joule makes a mental note on take down the style soon before exiting the bathroom. She made the bed, placing her satchel on top of it, then going down to the bottom level. The law enforcers were now sitting around the island, eating breakfast from iHop and sipping coffee.

"Akil coming?" Joule asked, getting their attention.

"Soon." Darnell assured, "It's just 𝟔:𝟑𝟎. I'm sure she and the only detectives will be here in another hour."

Joule nods, walking towards the island as Wes asks, "Breakfast?"

      She declines, "I'm not hungry."

"We can't just allow you to not eat, Joule." Wes tells her, "Gotta eat to live."

"I know. I'm just.. not hungry." Her adamancy about it makes Wes leave it alone, "Y'all would know who where a person is that's in protective custody?"
