Unplanned Love

Chapter 4

The whole week went by and all i did was think about what happened and what to do; should i thank him and come up with an excuse about my glowing eyes or should i just let it go, i mean we're not even friends.

So, i decided to go with the second choice
Which is to act normal as if nothing happened, i avoided talking and making eye contact with Andrew. I didn't tell anyone what happened because it's not a big deal, i came to the conclusion that my eyes glowed by mistake, maybe it was just a reflex to what was happening to me then.

The weekend came and as usual i went to Tom's place, i was sitting in my room when i heard a knock "come in" i said,

Tom entered wearing a black suit that matches his eyes, he pulled his dark brown hair back with his hands and looked at me with a smile, he looks exhausted so, i assumed he just got back from work.

He announced " you're coming to the company with me tomorrow!"

" And why is that, you don't let me do anything there and i end up doing nothing"

Tom answered " Don't worry i found the perfect job for you!"

I looked at him with curiosity, he continued " I organized an internship and you will be in charge of watching the interns "

i answered " And why will i do that ?"

" Because you're my partner and I don't trust anyone to handle this like you will"

I sighed " Fine i"'ll do it because i owe you for everything"

He answered with a nice smile " Great! , Every weekend you'll be helping me with the interns and for the record, you don't owe me anything"

The next day, i went to the company with Tom and i realized how far he has come, a large glass building with lots of floors, people sitting on their desks working on new tech equipment and Tom is the CEO of the company, i'm so proud of him he's come along way.

Moments later, we arrived at the meeting room and when i went in i saw the last person i expected to see here.

" Meet Andrew Collins the intern i chose and the one who You'll be watching over" Tom said, i stood there surprised and replied angrily "

"wait, what ? We didn't agree on this, you said INTERNS NOT INTERN !!"

Andrew looked at me and said " whoa ! Easy there i didn't know either."

I ignored him and turned to Tom " i'm not doing this Tom i'm not a babysitter!"

Andrew interrupted again " hey! I don't like it either so, why don't you just calm down"

i replied sarcastically " i'm sorry is your name Tom ?!"

Andrew said in a warning voice " Look ! whatever your name is don't cross the line i don't work for you !"

" Mind your own business lovely boy you don't know who you're talking to!"

Andrew got up from his chair and was about to say something but Tom stopped him and yelled
"Stop, Stop it ! what are you.. children!?, Look kara all you have to do is watch over him while answering his questions and all you have to do Andrew is ask the questions and stay silent It's that simple, now I'll leave you both to it !"
He ran out the door and closed it before any of us could say anything.

We sat there for hours not looking at each other, i got the opportunity to catch a glimpse of him , he's slim fit, has dark brown wavy hair and his eyes seem brown but in the sun they turn hazel, i know this because he was staring at the window and i would examine him while his not looking, i could see that he's doing the same from the corner of my eye.

The fact that he's not speaking got on my nerves , I was so sick of the silence so I decided to speak and say.

" You really don't know who i am ?"

He raised an eyebrow and said " should i know who you are ?"

I gave a half smile "No, you don't it's just i got used to being recognized, i was surprised that you don't."

He nodded and said " so, who are you ?" And that was the time our eyes have met since we entered this room.

I blinked and answered
"Kara, Kara walker"
