2. The Night of the Comet

Elena: (voiceover) "Previously on The Vampire Diaries . . ."

From "Pilot", fog was spreading through the trees, along the ground.

From "Pilot", Stefan was standing on the roof of the Salvatore Boarding House, watching the sunrise.

Stefan: (voiceover) "For over a century, I have lived in secret. Until now. I know the risk, but I had no choice."

Stefan jumped off the roof, landing on the ground, smoothly.

Stefan: (voiceover) "I have to know her."

From "Pilot", Stefan took off his sunglasses.

From "Pilot", Stefan and Elena were in the cemetery.

"I'm Elena," Elena said.

Stefan introduced himself. "I'm Stefan."

Elena smiled. "I know. We have history together."

From "Pilot", at the back-to-school party, Elena and Stefan were walking across a bridge.

"Last spring, my parents' car drove off of a bridge into the lake," Elena told him.

From "Pilot", Elena was in the cemetery, writing in her journal. She looked up at her parents' grave.

From "Pilot", Stefan looked at Elena. "You won't be sad forever, Elena."

Elena nodded.

From "Pilot", Stefan, Elena, Sofia, Bonnie, Caroline and Rosalie were sitting around a table in the Mystic Grill.

"I live with my uncle," Stefan said.

"Any siblings?" Elena asked.

"None that I talk to," Stefan answered.

From "Pilot", Stefan turned around in shock. "Maria?"

"Hello, Stefan," Maria greeted him. "Did you miss me?"

From "Pilot", Damon and Anton appeared on the balcony outside Stefan's room.

"Hello, brother," Damon greeted Stefan.

"Damon," Stefan said. "Anton."

From "Pilot", Anton and Sofia were standing in the street, staring at each other.

Anton: (voiceover) "Sofia. She's a dead ringer for Jane. Just like Elena is for Katherine."

From "Pilot", Stefan was looking at an old picture of Katherine Pierce, who looked exactly like Elena.

From "Pilot", Stefan looked at Damon and Anton. "But wherever you two go, people die."

Anton smirked.

From "Pilot", Sofia and Jeremy were in the woods, looking down at Vicki's unconscious body.

"Oh, my God, it's Vicki," Jeremy said, looking at his sister.

From "Pilot", Sofia looked at Vicki's neck. "Something bit her. She's losing a lot of blood."

From "Pilot", Vicki gasped awake.

From "Pilot", Jeremy carried Vicki out of the woods.

"Somebody help!" Sofia cried.

From "Pilot", Vicki was lying in the hospital, her neck was bandaged, and Matt sat next to her.

"Vampire," Vicki said.

From "Pilot", Damon looked at Stefan. "Don't you crave a little?"

"Stop it," Stefan told him.
