On a sunny Monday morning, back in the small town of Angel Grove, Mai is asleep in her bedroom and but she is not sleeping soundly. She is tossing and turning, with sweat starting to pour from her head. Suddenly, she is awoken by a knock at her door and she shoots up and walk through is her dad, Billy Cranston.Billy Cranston: Mai, you up?
Mai: Hey, Dad.
Mai sat up in her bed as her dad peaked into her room. As Mai tries to fix herself up, her dad notices that something seems to be going on with her.
Billy Cranston: Hey, you okay?
Mai: Yeah, of course. What's up?
Billy Cranston: I just came to see if you were getting ready for school.
Mai: Yep. Just give me a couple of minutes.
Billy Cranston: Okay, sure.
Before he closes the door, Billy peaks back into the room to check and make sure that she's okay.
Billy Cranston[cont.]: You sure you're okay?
Mai: Positive.
After hearing that, Billy gives her a reassuring smile and closes the door. Once Billy is in the hallway, he looks at Mais bedroom door and smiles to himself.
Billy Cranston: Heh, teenagers.
Moments after the door closes, Mai gets up from her bed and walks over to her counter to put her glasses on. When Mai goes to put her glasses on, she notices some that gave her pause. She noticed that her arms were a lot more toned than before and when she lift up her shirt, she noticed that she now has a six pack.
Mai: What the hell? She looks at her body, wondering how this happened. Yesterday she was practically skinny as a twig and now she has the body of an action star. She was impressed and freaked out but she couldn't wonder any further as she had to start getting ready for school. When Mai went to put on her pants, she noticed that her pants are few inches shorter now to the point where her ankles are now showing. She found this even more strange. Not only was her body changing but she grew also. Then Mai came to a simple explanation as to what was happening to her was simply puberty.
Once Mai is ready, she comes down the stairs, book-bag over her arm, and comes to the kitchen to see her dad reading the newspaper and drinking a cup of coffee.
Mai: Later, dad.
Billy Cranston: Have a good day, sweetly. Be safe.
Mai: Always.
As Mai walks down the stairs, she feels her phone vibrates. She pulls out and sees that Lisa has texted her.
