Dinner that night was a hearty occasion. A lovely meal of freshly made bread, baked potatoes and roasted boar meat obtained in a hunt by Jenny's son James Murray. It was served with a wafting smell of mouth watering fragrance.

Claire took it easy on the red wine whilst forcing herself to eat as well. It was hard to feel any given way about the pregnancy situation. And not to mention the whole Laoghaire problem that had arrised shortly after their arrival back to Lallybroch. Though she could not fault Jamie for marrying again in their 20 years apart, she also could not fully forgive him for choosing that vile woman of all people.

"Sassenach... you look as though yer bout to be ill.."

Jamie leaned over to whisper to her. His hand lightly brushed over her knee under the table, rousing a familiar pit of warmth in her belly that she could not quite deal with since she was still trying to be mad at him.

Taking his words to heart, she lifted a few fingers to her cheek, she truly did feel clammy already. Had she really lost the pinching of the cheeks rosie luster she had intended already? Claire brought her handkerchief up to her mouth and feigned wiping away invisible stray crumbs, although she felt she just might hurl.

"Pardon me everyone... I best be retiring for the night.."

She spoke lightly and excused herself from the table of the large family to go and lay down in her own room. The bed was firm under her back, a familiar stiffness that she long had missed over the years, back when she used to live in Lallybroch with Jamie.
