First grade was the first time that Devyn Mays and Lip Gallagher laid eyes on each other. Lip caught Devyn trying to swipe his hard earned lunch, and, understanding she was probably in a similar situation he was, he decided to share with her. From that day on, the two were best friends, and shared their lunches every day.
They quickly became known as the smartest, yet, dumbest hoodrats on the block. It was obvious to anyone who really knew the pair that they were wasting their intelligence on partying, drugs, alcohol, and any other bad thing that the South Side had to offer. The two never listened much to that talk though, they were young, what was a little fun, right?
As far as they were concerned, life had dealt them both a shitty hand, with absent parents, poor school conditions, and having to work since before puberty, so, they were going to have as much fun as they fucking wanted. If that fun got in the way of school, so be it.
Lately though, the pair had been going through a rough patch. With Lip's new obsession with the blonde "bimbo" Karen, and Devyn's growing jealous to the situation, things get tense. With all his attention on Karen, Lip couldn't even realize his best friend was heading off the deep end with their "habits".
Would he realize before it was too late?
