Drunken Mistakes
Devyn groaned against the pillow beneath her as she tried to shield her eyes from the sunlight. The girl had absolutely no idea where she was, what time it was, or who the hell's arm was resting on top of her. She did know however, that the pit of her stomach was turning in disgust, and her brain was throbbing against her skull.
She must have done something she was really going to regret in a few minutes.
Carefully, she peeled the pillow away from her face, and with squinted eyes, glanced at the boy beside her. Beside her lay Brett, a small puddle of drool formed on the corner of his mouth as he snored. He was shirtless, messy-haired, and incredibly less appealing than he had been the night before.
He was no longer a light in Devyn's eyes, and could be better compared to a tunnel that was taking her straight into the darkness.
If one thing was for sure, the Mays girl knew she was going to need a shower. She felt dirty, and as she peeled the blanket away from her legs, she realized it was much more than just a feeling. Holding her vomit, Devyn wiped off her legs as much as she could using the blanket she had been using, and swiftly but quietly escaped bed.
After about the longest ten seconds of her life, the still disoriented Devyn found her pants and coat and quickly threw them onto her body, jumping as she heard Brett rustle in the bed.
"Leaving already?" He questioned groggily.
"I—uh... yeah, have somewhere to be." The Mays girl responded, her voice cracking slightly.
"Text me." Brett turned over the opposite way, and began to snore slightly right after.
Quickly, Devyn made her exit through the back door beside his bedroom, and ran out to the front, her feet bringing her down the cracked sidewalk.
It took her a few minutes for her to realize her mind was elsewhere, and she had no idea where the hell she was walking.
"Dev!" Her heart dropped when she heard Lip's voice, of course, he had to see her like this, what awful timing.
"Phillip." The girl responded as he caught up to her, catching his breath slightly.
"What the hell happened to you last night? I was looking all over for you." Lip seemed a tad offended she hadn't told him she was leaving but, then again, he had left her first.
"I left." Devyn avoided eye contact, with the way she was feeling, she didn't even want to look herself in the eye.
"You didn't go home. I checked. Last night and this morning. Fiona said you didn't show up at mine either." The Gallagher boy stated, trying to catch a glance from his best friend, slowly getting frustrated by the way she was asking. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
