Chapter 1

Nandini's pov

The pollution and that mulky humid air smacks me right in my face, yuck, its gross, I did not know Mumbai was this humid but then again it was hot and mid September so obviously it was humid.

I got in a cab and as he drove me to my house, or actually the house I have rented I noticed how busy mumbai actually is, people everywhere, there wasn't a single street the driver turned that was packed with busses, cars, bikes, and pedestrians.

I smile at the beautiful ocean line, marine drive as people like calling it, its beautiful even in mid afternoon. You see my bus was supposed to be here later this evening but damn these bus drivers know what they are doing. It was zoom zoom haha.

As we continue the drive, I couldn't help notice the beautiful houses on the left of the car while the right side included lots of markets and huge penthouses

My phone beeps as the car stops letting me know we were at the destination, I look up paying the driver who helped mer right away with my 5 suitcases, actually lets be honest it was 2 suitcases full of clothes and the other 3 of some cutlery, bedsheets and some stuff like that

I had basically packed my whole entire life in 5 suitcases and moved with barely a penny in my pocket left but the good part was I have a job here. When I applied to university, I also applied to the library for a part time job and I got it so we about to make some buckssss

"Thank you" I mumble to the uncle

he smiles in reply before zooming away, I look up at the apartment building and taking huge breath I manage to get my suitcases in front of the elevator, it does take a couple runs back and forth though

"God why is this so hard" I mumble to myself taking a huge breath

"Need help?" I hear a voice

As I turn around a guy looks at me with the creepiest look

"Mhm no, no thank you" I smile

"Are you sure?" He asks

"Mhm yeah, yeah so sure" I say rushing my suitcases into the elevator pressing the stupid 15th floor button continuously

the guy didn't even stop staring, he was giving me a stupid disgusting smirk, smile, whatever it was but it was creepy as hell. As soon as the elevator door closes I take a huge breath leaning on the back

"Oh mirror" I mumble to myself looking on the side

I check out all the stupid disgusting pores on my face until the door opens and I wheel the stupid suitcases out of the elevator. Thankfully the room wasn't too far, I stood in front of the door and knocked because the group that all us roommates had let me know I was the last one to arrive

We have this group on messages with alia, multi, navya and I, we are all sharing a room together, we are also all in the same bachelor program and have mostly the same courses

I take a huge breath and knock a couple times, as I hear footsteps nervousness takes over me, what if they don't like me?

"Hiiiiiii" a girl yells as soon as the door opens

"Hi" I whisper

"You must be Nandini, I am navya. Welcome and also everyone in there is crazy so I need you to be my best friend okay" she blurts all at once

"Mhm yeah, right?" I mumble

"Great, N and N" she says

"What?"

"Let her come in navya" I hear another voice

Before I could say anything else, another girl come out using navya aside

"Hey I'm mukti, welcome aboard" I chuckle at her words

"Thank you" I whisper

"Let me help you with those" she says

"Oh right, shit I completely forgot, ill help" navya says

They both help me with my suitcases which was so nice

"So we got here before you so we chose rooms, I hope this is okay" mukti says

"Yeah, its perfect thank you" I mumble

"So get settled, dressed and then be ready in 2 hours" navya says

"Im sorry? For what?"

"Uni starts tom so tonight all freshmen are having a party if you will" mukti explains

"Oh mhm yeah not much of a party person" I mumble

"Same but we have to go right, its the first event kind of thing" navya says

"No ma'am, I do not do parties" I reiterate

"Both you glum widows get your sexy clothes on and lets go" mukti said leaving followed by navya too

I shut my door locking it, I wheel my suitcases to the corner of the bed, I quickly open the suitcase with my bedsheets and grab a baby pink pair of sheets with black roses, yes its cute and im a child, shut up.

I put the sheets on and laid on the bed huffing, gosh, this feels so messed up, I feel at peace away from my own house for some reason and I love it

The worst god damn thing about moving is the stupid luggage and crap you have to unpack, and then you have to find another spot to put the clothes in and gosh it's annoying so so annoying.

I lean on my elbows and look around, it was actually very decent sized room, I also had a private bathroom with a balcony so that was good because I love a balcony. Shit, now I have to unpack, nooooooo.

After a lot of whining and being annoyed with myself, I finally get up and start cleanings cleaned my room and the bathroom which was disgusting, eww but after cleaning I had half an hour to spare so I opened some suitcases and started putting stuff away

I only got through 3 suitcases before mukti texted me again about the stupid party. I got ready in black jeans and a white top because it the first thing that I grabbed from the closet.

"Nandiniiii" I hear navya scream

I walk outside to see all three of the girls, even alia who I hadn't met before so we did introduce ourselves to each other before we all headed out

"Tell me there is no alcohol" I whisper to navya

She giggled wrapping her arm around mine

"So much alcohol plus hot boys"

"Navya" I say

"It's true, hot boys and sexy ones, even nerdy but guess what?"

"What?"

"I really wanna see how parties are, I haven't been to one like ever" she says

"Me neither" I let her know which seemed to get her excited

"Perfect, aww we are truly besties" I giggle nodding, she gives me very pure and nice vibes

"Tell me you brought nice dresses too and not just jeans" she says

"Well a couple but not many why?"

"well you know when you start dating and stuff"

"not happening" I say shaking my head

"are you gay?" She asks

"Nope"

"Then? Long distance boyfriend?" She asks

My head goes back to thoughts of my ex but I shake my head

"Nope, single as a Pringle"

"Girl sameee"

Alia and mukti were in their own world while navya and I were having the best time walking to the party which was close to the university. It was only a 10 minute walk to the uni anyways
