"Laura..." I tried again this time a little louder almost screaming.
No response.
I removed my work apron and made my way towards my sister's bedroom. Given the small apartment that we had rented, the bedroom was just next to the kitchen.

I peeked inside through the slightly opened door of her bedroom. Laura laid there on her cozy little bed almost at the edge, with her glasses still on and a book resting on her chest.

I sighed as I went and stood near her bed and placed my hand on her arm shaking her attempting to wake her up .
" Laura please wake up."

Still nothing. Okay then.
I leaned forwards and yelled.
" Laura."

The sudden shrill scream apparently shocked my sister causing her to roll down from the bed.
" Ouch.aww.." Laura rubbed her head as she fell onto the wooden flooring.

"What happened?" Laura looked at me completely awake with wide eyes. The spot on her forehead was pinkish as she tried rubbing it again.

" You need to ice the area." I replied as i pointed to the now red area on her forehead.

" Uh...." She just looked at me as if I had grown horns.
"Oh, as for your earlier question, you have a test today." I said calmly as I started folding her washed clothes that were in the laundry basket.

"What?" She stared at me trying to decipher my words.
I just rolled my eyes. This girl.

" Goodness, the test! Lydia why didn't you wake me up sooner?" With that she bolted towards the washroom not even awaiting for my answer.

I sighed as I put the the folded clothes into the cupboard. I took a minute to just observe my little sister's wardrobe.

Everything was neatly arranged with not a single speck of dust anywhere. Unlike a teenager's cupboard and my own cupboard. Laura's had more of denims, jeans and baggy clothes while mine had more of blazers, shirts and pants.

As if on cue, a loud chime was heard from the round bunny eared clock .
Damn, it's 8 already.

I sprinted towards my room to get ready for work. It didn't take much time for me, as I had kept my clothes ready and ironed beforehand- blue blazer, white shirt and blue pants. My wavy brunette hair also remained loyal, as it didn't give me a stubborn attitude today.

Within no time I was on the dining table waiting for my sister.
" Laura, we are going to be late. Hurry up." I yelled at the top of my voice as I set up the table. Today's special was bacon, fried eggs and toast- Laura's favourite.

Loud shuffling was heard from the room above me and after what felt like a decade my sister came down. She was wearing a baggy grey shirt with jeans, and her hair tied in a pony with few of her black hair strands falling out outlining her oval face.

" Laura.." My scoldings were interrupted by my sister's anxious words.

" I am sorry. I just, am so not prepared for the test," Laura said looking dejected.

" Hey, its okay. You are going to be fine. I know that you will do well as you do always. So please eat now."
My sister and her anxiety. Phew..

I had finished my breakfast and was just putting the dishes in the sink when I heard my sis again,
" This is not like that Lydia. I literally don't know anything this time," She said as she aimlessly poked on the food in front of her.

I stopped what I was doing and washed my hands, dried it clean and walked towards Laura. As I reached her, I picked the fork with food on it and sat in front of her.

" Laura, I know you barely had time to prepare yesterday, but that doesn't mean you don't know anything.I know my sister, she wouldn't just keep her work pending, " I said as I fed her the food in the plate. She was absent mindedly shaking her head as she chewed on her food.
