Chapter 6

The centre of attention had shifted. It was no longer Vivienne. It was.... Danielle.

Everyone including the Sanders, Mr. Damien, Vivienne and Mr. Adam were looking weirdly at..... Danielle.

Danielle was having a fit of laughter at the moment. All because of my enlightening words.

That's right. " The lovestruck puppy " comment. Guess what? I had said that out loud and not in my mind.

Stupid mouth.

Thank God the media was busy with other businessmen so most of the cameras were towards the other side. We still had one or two cameras capturing us though.

I looked pleadingly towards Danielle begging her to stop laughing. She raised her hands in surrender and calmed down before she started giggling again. Tears had formed in her eyes with all the laughing.

The rest of the family were mere seconds away before they reached us. Mr. Adam looked like he was still in a daze, no doubt from the mesmerizing beauty of Vivienne. He seemed to be thankful for the distraction.

I was most afraid of Mr. Damien. He didn't look the least bit happy as he was looking at his sister and me like he was going to kill us for interrupting his little private moment.

Wait..why is he looking at me but? Did he hear what I had said? Good lords...

I looked helplessly towards Alexandro and Dimitri who were trying to contain their smile themselves. Danielle's laughter was contagious after all. Thankfully they got my signal and they sobered up quickly.

Alexandro was the first one to react,
" That sure was a fantastic joke. Maybe we should take it outside so that we don't disturb the others with our petty acts."

I nodded frantically as Dimitri also blinked and shook his head lightly as he agreed. Danielle had her hands on her mouth trying to quiten herself. Not that it was helping much as her laughter increased as and when she looked at Damien.

"Danielle, Miss Lydia, shall we?" I wasted no time as I held Danielle's hand and pulled her with me. Alexandro had some silent eye agreement with Dimitri as he walked besides us. Dimitri stayed behind maybe to handle the situation there.

Mr. Damien sure had some sensible friends.

As we got out in the balcony Alexandro got a call, so he excused himself.

" Should I get you some water? Are you okay?" I asked Danielle desperately.
She smiled at me as she nodded and said,
" Yes, I think I can use some water."

I quickly fetched water for her which she gulped it in one go. She had calmed down.

Alexandro asked as he reached back,
" So? Do we go back? Danielle?"

Danielle was back to her own self. She told us to carry on as she wanted to go to the restroom just to check on her make up.

I walked with Alexandro back towards the hall. To get rid of the awkward silence I started talking,
" How is the business at present? Has the dip been neutralized? I heard about the unpredictable weather conditions in Greece."
He looked surprised by the sudden question.
" Yeah we did undergo a setback for a long few months. But I had help from the most unlikely sources. And as usual Damien and Dimitri gave their full support. So now it's got steady."

I smiled as I heard this.
" That's good. Also congratulations on your marriage. "

" Thank you Miss Lydia. I was really lucky in that aspect. Ophelia came to me at my lowest point and gave me the support and love that I never knew I deserved."
He touched his ring as he thought about his beloved. The love sparkled in his bright eyes.
