Laura was busy relishing her pancakes and waffles which i had prepared for her.
Hmm..she likes it.

Laura always avoided sleep overs, dine out or partying with her friends inspite of me nagging her to try it.
" I just dont like the food there", that was the reason she gave me everytime i asked her about it. It was really suspicious at times but i thought not to persue it any further. Laura was wise enough to know what was good for her. I trusted her.

But now that I stared she did look more skinny than usual.
" Have you lost any weight?" I asked her with a straight face. She hated it when I got concerned.
She looked at me with food in her mouth. I knew that look on her face right now. It was the typical " Are you serious ?" look.

I raised my hands in defense as I said , " " Just asked. You just looked skinnier then usual."

She shook her head amused as she collected her dishes to put into the sink. " You are not getting too stressed with studies or anything right?"

What happened next was down right shocking. She dropped the dishes which made a loud clang as she arrived in front of me in nano speed. I barely had time to react as she held onto my shoulders firmly and said ,
" I am fine Lydia. I would tell you if there's anything wrong. Okay?"

I blinked and slowly nodded my head in an affirmative. Just like that she disappeared and ran to her room to get ready for college. I stood there unmoving trying to understand what just happened.

I soon forgot about the morning events as I reached the office. I stopped at the marketing floor before going to the 12th floor which was now my office.

The entire marketing department was on their toes since early morning. It was invariably one of the most important event for Damien and Co in the recent years.

Robert and myself went once again to the venue of the press conference which was the side audi on the ground floor. Everything was set up at the venue yesterday night itself as even I had made a quick stop there after dropping Miss Danielle home. Still a last minute check would be good to see that we hadn't missed anything.

" Everything looks fine. I guess we are all set. 9.30 right ?" Robert asked.
" Yes sir. The press has confirmed the timing as 9.30. " I replied.

He had asked me this question already three times by now. I don't think I had seen him so concerned ever. Even with Mr. Charles' interviews even he was calm.
Guess he is really close with junior Sanders.

" Right. I keep forgetting don't I? Guess I am growing old after all." Robert said with an awkward smile.
I wasnt sure it was my place to comfort him so i kept quiet.
I gave him a small smile and decided not to say anything.

Robert answered finally,
" you see, Damien is new to all of this. He is a good kid, although a little temperamental. I can't help it but get worried for him."

I looked at him mildly surprised not expecting him to speak up. I answered to him,
" It will be fine sir. We just have to make sure Mr. Damien pulls it through. Besides there's always you and all of us for any extra support."

Robert gave a long sigh as he said,
" Yeah. That's a great relief really." Then it was left at that.

Exactly at 9.30 am, the place was full with press personnel. Mr. Damien also arrived with Vivienne just next to him and Luke not far behind. The rest of my team was standing behind the press while me and Robert were standing near Mr. Damien below the podium level.

Just as he took his place at the podium the crowd got into pindrop silence. Everyone was eager to know what Mr. Damien had say.

Damien although appeared calm but the clenching of his jaw and tightening of his neck muscles proved otherwise. He moved his eyes through the crowd and finally his eyes landed on his secretary, Miss Vivienne. Vivienne in reply gave him one of her bright smiles. He seemed to visibly relax a bit.
