When I was poised on the edge of losing her, she became my lifeline, the last thread that held me together.

Saad's voice resonated with unwavering determination as he declared, "I would marry her without a moment's hesitation!" The room was engulfed in a sudden hush, leaving everyone speechless and taken aback. Sensing the need to intervene, Munshi Sahab took a step forward, ready to address the situation. However, Saad's fervor remained unyielding as he continued, directing his words towards Munshi Sahab, "Munshi Sahab, I implore you to place your daughter's trust in me. I solemnly pledge to keep her happiness as my utmost priority and to treat her with the utmost respect she deserves." The weight of his heartfelt words lingered in the air, rendering all the relatives utterly speechless.

Munshi Sahab's gaze drifted from his wife, whose eyes suddenly lit up with joy, to Maheen, whose face was glowing with happiness, and finally to Saad's parents, whose expressions were not of concern, but of understanding and embrace. Amidst the soft gasps of astonishment, it was as if a sense of acceptance and contentment had descended upon the entire room, embracing them all in its warm embrace.

He paused for a moment as if collecting his thoughts and then declared, "I swear by all that is holy that I will always honor and cherish your daughter. I vow to always be loyal and devoted to her, and will strive to make her feel cared for and protected. I promise to never do anything that would hurt her in any way or cause her any pain. I swear to do all that is in my power to make sure that she is always content and happy."

One of the aunts said, "You don't need to settle for this girl just to save the family's reputation. Don't trap yourself in this commitment!" She may have been related to them, but her words were toxic and filled with judgement.

He angrily replied, "I'm fortunate if this girl even agrees to marry me. It's not my decision to make; it's hers and her family's! If they deem me worthy."

His gaze traveled to Munshi sahab and Mubeena who had stood with eyes welling up and a proud smile on their faces, showing respect for him. He asked, "Munshi sahab, do you find me deserving of your daughter's hand in marriage?"

To which Munshi sahab patted his shoulder reassuringly and said, "Beta, I will leave this decision to be made by Mahjabeen herself, but I approve of it." Mubeena smiled warmly at him, her eyes filled with pride and admiration.

His gaze then travelled to his parents who gleamed with pride and joy as if they were the sun radiating with delight over the success of the seed they have sown. They were filled with admiration for the man their son had become.

Munshi sahab, Mubeena, Maheen, taya jaan, and tayi jaan then walked to Mahjabeen's room to talk to her, while everybody outside beamed with joy. Maajid, overcome with emotion, hugged Saad, wiping away the tears that welled up in his eyes as he saw someone as noble as Saad take a stand for his sister and fight for her hand in marriage. Everybody around them got busy in their talks, some gossiping merrily, while others genuinely expressed their joy.
