"Spencer, please be careful with that," Trina begged as Spencer placed the gun in his jacket. "Trina, it's on safety lock, and I know how to use it. My uncle spent years training me." He informed her as he held her shoulders. "I'm sorry for pecking; I'm just scared," Trina admitted, and Spencer pulled her into his arms.

"I've told you this before; I won't let anyone hurt you." He whispered in her hair as he kissed her forehead.

The lights began to flicker again, "The generator should be gassed enough to last two nights — well, that's how we usually kept it before Ava took over. Hopefully, she has the same sentiments." Spencer informed Trina as the power stayed on after the minor flickering.

"I have no cell service," Trina notified Spencer as she attempted to call emergency services. "Neither do I," Spencer confirms as he checks his phone. "Shit," He mumbled, "Apparently, all of the launches are gone as well,"

Spencer sighed as he read one of the final messages he received before the signal dropped.

"This is a play-by-play of your uncle's experience," Trina expressed as she sat on the sofa. The entrance to the library room that they took cover in was locked — giving them some sense of safety.

"Baby, It'll be over soon. We're together; Curtis will be okay – he's a fighter, just like my uncle. All we have is us right now." Spencer held her close to him as he attempted to comfort her.

"Joss..." Trina's eyes widened as she realized no one besides Dex was there for her best friend. "Dex will assure she is safe; my uncle will also."

"Spencer, you heard Sonny; he can't protect everyone! Dex is on Sonny's duty! Michael is mourning over his wife! Carly is out of town; no one is there for Joss, Spencer!" Trina freaked as the lights dipped again.

Spencer exhaled as he witnessed his lover fret over her best friend.

"We left her in the main hall; we can stick together — watch each other's back — and check on her. I'm sure that area won't be targeted, considering it's crowded." Trina strategized as Spencer listened.

He was very opposed to them leaving their safe spot.

He sighed as the lights flickered again, "Alright, just stay close to me." Spencer demanded her as he stood from the sofa. His grasp on Trina's hand was tight as they approached the door. Spencer placed his head on the door, listening for any commotion.

The silence was unsettling.

"I used to love how huge this place was — not so much anymore," Spencer commented as he hesitated to unlock the door. "Spencer, we'll be fine." He nodded.

The unlocking of the door echoed through the empty corridors. Spencer and Trina left the library, entering the exposed spacing — they moved quickly yet cautiously towards the main hall — it was quite the distance.

It was deserted.

"Where did everyone go?" Trina asked in confusion. "The launches are missing, and a thunderstorm is outside; they can't be far. People are probably hiding in rooms." Spencer concluded after mentally scratching off the options.

Rapid footsteps alerted the duo; Spencer pushed Trina behind him, extracting the weapon as the sounds came closer. He felt Trina's tight grip on his suit as the person turned the corner.

A sharp scream shook in the main hall.

"Spencer!" The suspect of the sound called out.

"Kristina! Where did you come from? What's wrong?" Spencer approached his older cousin – Trina, following suit. "Why are you drenched?" He followed up his question with another as so many cramped his brain.
