Author's pov:

A new morning in shekhawat mansion

Lavanya slowly stirred in the comfort of her bed, her eyelids fluttering open as the rays of the morning sun pierced through her curtains. As she came fully awake, the events of the previous day flooded back into her mind, and a feeling of irritation washed over her.

"Ugh, I can't believe I overslept again," she muttered under her breath, frustration evident in her voice. She glanced at the clock on her bedside table and panic gripped her heart. She was already more than an hour late for the most crucial meeting of her career, a deal that could make or break her future.

Her anger toward her mom resurfaced, fueled by the sleep-induced fog that clouded her thoughts. Their disagreement yesterday had been heated, and Lavanya couldn't help but hold her mother accountable for not waking her up as they had always done.

Swinging her legs out of bed, Lavanya stomped towards her closet, her mind racing with mixed emotions. She quickly threw on her meticulously planned outfit, her frustration giving an edge to her movements. Every minute lost fueled her anger, and she couldn't shake off the bitter taste of resentment toward her mother.

As Lavanya rushed around her room, grabbing her bag and essential documents, her anger mingled with anxiety. Thoughts of missed opportunities and failed impressions overwhelmed her, amplifying her already mounting frustration. She felt the need to express her discontent with her mom again, to let her know how significant this day was and how her actions had hurt her chances.

Dragging her feet down the stairs, Lavanya's eyes met her mother's weary gaze. She opened her mouth to unleash her anger, but something in her mom's expression stopped her. Her mother looked worn-out, remorseful even, as if she too understood the gravity of the situation.

Lavanya's anger flickered, her frustration losing some of its intensity as she registered her mother's silent apology. The realization of her mother's remorse, of the shared disappointment in the morning's chaos, softened her heart.

Taking a deep breath, Lavanya swallowed her anger, knowing that her focus should be on salvaging the situation. With newfound resolve, she walked up to her mom and said, voice calm but resolute, "Mom, I can't change what happened, but I need your support now. I need to get to that meeting, and I need you to believe in me."

Her mother's eyes welled up with tears, guilt and love intermingling in them. She nodded, her voice choked with emotion. "I'm sorry, Lavanya. I believe in you. Go and conquer that meeting, and know that I'm here for you."

Lavanya realized that anger and blame wouldn't serve her purpose. Instead, she needed to channel her energy into rectifying the situation and making the best of the time she had left. With a newfound determination, Lavanya grabbed her keys and rushed out the door, leaving behind the remnants of her frustration and embracing the opportunity for redemption.

Upon reaching the office, she learned that the deal had already been given to Darshan Singh Rathore as he had arrived on time, causing her anger to resurface because she had worked very hard for this but he took it. Without much thought, she marched towards his company and upon arrival, she discovered that he was in a meeting room. So, she stormed into the room.

Office meeting room. Lavanya,  storms into the room with a stern look on her face. Darshan, a cheeky yet successful rival, is sitting at the head of the table, wearing a self-satisfied grin. The tension in the room is palpable.

Lavanya: [crossing her arms] So, Darshan, I see you managed to seal the deal while I was stuck in traffic, huh?

Darshan: [leaning back in his chair] Oh, Lavanya, didn't anyone ever tell you to set an alarm or something? You wouldn't have to rely on luck to make it on time!

Lavanya: [snapping] Excuse me? You think this is funny? I worked just as hard on that deal as you did, if not harder!

Darshan: [chuckling] Oh, come on, Lavanya. Don't be so mad. You snooze, you lose, right?

Lavanya: [through gritted teeth] Darshan, you have no idea how important that deal was to me. I can't believe you would take advantage of my tardiness.

Darshan: [smirking] Advantage? No, I simply seized an opportunity when it presented itself. If you wanted it that badly, perhaps you should have set three alarms instead of one.

Lavanya: [raising an eyebrow] You're not as clever as you think, Darshan. This won't be the last time we compete for something valuable.

Darshan: [leaning forward] Oh, I certainly hope not, Lavanya. It's always more fun to beat you fair and square.

Lavanya: [taking a deep breath to calm herself] This isn't over, Darshan. You may have won this battle, but the war is far from done.

Darshan: [grinning] I look forward to it, Lavanya. Just make sure you're on time next time.

They both glare at each other, the air thick with competitive energy. The deal was done but it fueled further the rivalry between them.
