Darshan stormed into his room, his fists clenched with frustration. The words Lavanya had spoken echoed in his mind, her conditions ringing loud and clear. How could she propose such a thing? A marriage in name only, with no interference in her business—it was absurd, preposterous even.He paced back and forth, his mind swirling with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he was furious at the audacity of her proposal, the way she seemed to dismiss their relationship with such ease. On the other hand, a part of him couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt, of betrayal, at the thought of being kept at arm's length.
Sinking onto his bed, Darshan buried his face in his hands, his heart heavy with the weight of his emotions. How had things come to this? He had never imagined that their relationship would be reduced to a mere business transaction, devoid of love, passion, or connection.
But as anger gave way to resignation, Darshan knew that he had a decision to make. He couldn't force Lavanya to change her mind, nor could he continue to pine for a love that seemed forever out of reach. With a heavy sigh, he resolved to accept her terms, no matter how much they stung his pride.
Feeling defeated, Darshan sought solace in the one person who had always been his pillar of strength—his grandfather. Making his way to the old man's study, he found him seated by the fireplace, a book in hand.
"Grandfather, may I speak with you?" Darshan asked, his voice tinged with resignation.
His grandfather looked up, concern etched on his face as he saw the turmoil in Darshan's eyes. "Of course, my boy. What's troubling you?"
Taking a seat opposite his grandfather, Darshan recounted the events of the evening, the bitterness of Lavanya's proposal still fresh in his mind. His grandfather listened in silence, his expression unreadable as Darshan poured out his heart.
When Darshan had finished speaking, there was a moment of silence as his grandfather carefully considered his words. Finally, he spoke, his voice gentle yet firm.
"Darshan, my dear boy, I understand your pain. But perhaps Lavanya's conditions are not as unreasonable as they seem."
Darshan looked up, confusion clouding his features. "What do you mean, grandfather?"
His grandfather smiled knowingly, a twinkle in his eye. "I mean that perhaps Lavanya is trying to protect herself, to shield her heart from further pain. And perhaps, in agreeing to her terms, you can show her that you respect her boundaries, that you're willing to give her the space she needs."
Darshan pondered his grandfather's words, the weight of his wisdom sinking in. Perhaps there was more to Lavanya's proposal than met the eye. Perhaps, by accepting her conditions, he could show her that he was willing to meet her halfway, to forge a connection based on trust, respect, and understanding.
With a newfound sense of resolve, Darshan rose from his seat, gratitude swelling in his heart. "Thank you, grandfather," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "Thank you for helping me see things more clearly."
As Darshan left his grandfather's study, a glimmer of hope sparked within him. No matter what lay ahead, he knew that he wouldn't give up on Lavanya—not now, not ever. And with his grandfather's guidance, he felt confident that they could overcome any obstacle that stood in their way.
