Summary: Damon and Y/N do not get along. Elijah is like Y/N's dad. Well turns out Damon and Y/N can get along

Damon and Y/N have known each other for a few centuries by now, and the two of them had just decided that they don't like the other at all. When one asks why they treat the other the way they do neither of them could give an answer. They had an unspoken bitterness between them which made being in the same room as the two a tiny bit uncomfortable but almost bearable.

"What is it I can do for you today?" Y/N asked once she had entered the Salvatore house, Damon scoffed before turning towards the stairs speeding up and disappearing behind the corner. Y/N stuck her tongue out at the man using her hands to make devil horns, Stefan burst out laughing at the girl's childish manners. "Well, it seems that the Mikaelson siblings are currently getting cosy here," Stefan told the girl leading her to the library. "Will Elijah also be there?" she asked the male who raised a brow after hearing the loud crash coming from upstairs before seeing his brother standing behind Y/N. "And dear, why does it matter if Elijah will be joining his siblings?" Damon questioned the girl crossing his arms. "Elijah is so sweet and polite, he is my favourite vampire of all time. he has saved my life more times than can could count," she answered him without turning around, only walking towards the chairs.

Y/N was back at her house going through some old witchcraft books, some have been passed down to her family for years the others were new. Y/N is a witch from birth and only turned into a vampire when she was about 22 years old, the vampire was still unknown. The girl was terrified by her new abilities, she had no control whatsoever. Elijah had been the one to come across the girl who sat in front of the body she had just drained. Elijah felt sorry for the girl when he heard her sobbing in her arms. Elijah had taken the girl in caring for her and protecting her while teaching her control. Elijah was like her father and brother at the same time, but of course, the other siblings nor the vampires knew about this.

The spell was no good, no matter how many times she had done it, she wasn't able to locate the originals. It seemed that they had a witch of their own covering up their trail. The candles had once lost their soft glow, the blood dripping from her nose. Y/N sighed and got up, liting her candles one more time before sitting cross-legged on the carpet, chanting the same words she had been using for the past hour and a half.

"You should not be doing that, especially not in your condition." A voice pulled her from her chanting only to find Elijah standing in her living room, his head tilted with a smile on his face. "Elijah!" The girl shrieked before sprinting to the original, hugging the man like there was no tomorrow. Elijah sighed having missed his daughter due to his father and mother. She nuzzled her head deeper into his neck as if to make sure he was there. "How long have you been going with this, Dear?" He asked when they pulled back and he wiped the bit of blood from under her nose. "I have no idea." She shrugged before letting the man go so that she could collect her candles and place them back onto the shelves. "Stefan told me you were back, and I haven't heard from you in so long I was wondering if you were still with us."

Elijah and Y/N had met up a few times to catch up on what they have missed. Damon had caught on to the fact that Y/N was spending less time at the Salvatore house, he hardly saw the girl. He wouldn't admit it but he missed bickering with her. He had tried to find her with no such luck as Klaus had thought that he had the perfect time to strike and attempt to break his dreadful curse. Elijah had told Y/N about Klaus' plan and had asked for her help to stop his brother before he did something he might regret. Y/N understood that Elena had to be protected at all times, she had informed Stefan about Klaus' reason for residents in Mystic Falls all of a sudden. Stefan had told Damon, and therefore Elena was never seen alone, one, if not both, Salvatore was seen guarding her.
