As the first rays of dawn stretched across the horizon, painting the sky in hues of gold and pink, Kiren sat with unwavering determination by Samuel's side. His eyes held a mix of concern and camaraderie, a silent reminder that Samuel was not alone in his struggle. Samuel, his body still aching from the brutal battle with Blad, looked up wearily at his friend, a tinge of self-doubt clouding his gaze."I can't believe I let him get the better of me," Samuel's voice was a weary murmur, heavy with the weight of defeat. "I failed, Kiren. Blad took everything from me. He killed my family, and I couldn't defeat him, he toyed with me".
Kiren's hand found its way to Samuel's shoulder, a gesture of reassurance that spoke volumes. "Samuel, facing Blad was no easy task," he said gently, his voice a soothing balm for wounded pride. "He's not just a formidable opponent; he's a force of darkness that thrives on chaos. It's natural to feel overwhelmed."
"I know," Samuel sighed, his gaze falling to his hands. "But I can't just let him get away with what he did. I want revenge, Kiren. I want to make sure he pays for the pain he caused."
Kiren's eyes held a steady, empathetic gaze as he met Samuel's gaze. "Revenge won't heal the wounds or bring back your family," he said softly, his words laced with a wisdom that came from understanding. "I know the pain is unbearable, but let's focus on becoming stronger instead. Only then can we face Blad with a real chance of victory."
Samuel's eyes flickered with a mix of doubt and hope, torn between the desire for vengeance and the need to heal. "But what about Blad?" he asked, his voice carrying the weight of uncertainty. "He won't stop until he's caused more suffering."
Kiren's resolve remained unshaken, his conviction evident in his response. "We will find a way to stop him," he said firmly, the fire of determination lighting up his gaze. "But right now, you need to focus on recovering. That's why you can't come with me to the dojo just yet."
"The dojo?" Samuel's curiosity was piqued despite his weariness, a glimmer of interest kindling within him.
"Yes," Kiren nodded, a sense of purpose guiding his words. "It's a place of training and enlightenment. The master there, Master Luke, is wise and skilled beyond measure. The dojo is preparing for a tournament called Battle Peak, a yearly event where the most skilled warriors gather to test their abilities. I'm going there to train and participate in the tournament, to challenge myself and hone my skills."
Samuel's exhaustion seemed to momentarily lift as he absorbed the significance of Kiren's journey. "I hope the training at the dojo makes you even stronger," he said, managing a small, genuine smile.
"It will," Kiren affirmed, a sense of determination radiating from him. "We'll find a way to face Blad together. Your pain is valid, Samuel, and I promise we will bring him to justice, but we need to be prepared."
As Samuel watched Kiren prepare to embark on his journey to the dojo, a flicker of hope ignited within him. He knew that revenge wouldn't heal his wounds, but the thought of becoming stronger and facing Blad again filled him with renewed determination. The path ahead would undoubtedly be arduous, marked by challenges and growth, but Samuel was now resolved to rise from the ashes of defeat and embrace the path of growth and justice that lay before him. And as Kiren's figure grew smaller in the distance, Samuel's heart was imbued with a glimmer of hope—a hope that together, they could overcome the darkness that threatened to consume their world.
