"Sierra you better get your but down here!" I heard wheezie call from downstairs so I started making my way.

"oh sweetie it's been far too long!" Ward said pulling me into a hug. He has been away for business for quite some time now and I haven't seen him in weeks. Ward is the closest thing I have to a father so I really appreciated him. "I missed you too" I said mumbling into the hug feeling Rose squish into the hug.

They knew all about my parents absence in my life so whenever they saw me they showered me with love. "Love you guys" I said pulling away from the hug. "We love you more sweetie!" Rose said, lighting running her hands through my hair.

"Well come on" Rose said grabbing my hand, "I hope you're ok with sitting with Wheezie, originally it was going to be her and Sarah in one side and then you and rafe on the other but with our added guests we had to shift some things around" rose informed me.

"Ofc I'm ok with it! Wheezie is the most fun with to sit next to anyway" is smiled as I sat down.

"How are you Wheez" I asked, turning slightly to face the girl. "Bored, everyone got to bring someone except for me!" She whined, "well since Sarah has John b and Rafe has Maddie how about I'm here for you tonight? If you'll have me Ofcourse" I laughed, "fine, but I want your asparagus" she said,

"Ofc" I laughed, "hey no stop it! Rafe sit across from paisley, Maddie sit across from Wheezie, and Sarah sit next to Wheezie and John b you across from Sarah!" Rose exclaimed, scolding her step children and their guests for trying to sit wherever.

"Wouldn't it make more sense if Maddie sat next to paisley? All of us "kids" on one side?" Rafa said making air quotes when he said kids. "Why, so you can talk across the table all night?" Ward asked, unimpressed at Rafes last minute request.

He shrugged, "just trying to make things more comfortable" rafe mumbled. "Yeah if sitting next to her would make anything more comfortable" I muttered to myself, thinking no one heard me.

"Grow up will you" rafe barked, as he sat down next to me. "Want me to play mice? Keep her away from me" I whispered aggressively to Rafe. "I stopped her upstairs didn't I?" He said, "before she went to attack me?! The jabs beforehand-" I got cut off, "I'm so glad everyone could make it tonight! It's always means so much to spend quality time with our family....and others" rose said as she looked at Maddie.

I smirked as I leaned back into my chair knowing Rose and don't that on purpose. Rose could be a total bitch sometimes but I lover her for that.

She had been more of a mother to me then my actual mother and I'm forever grateful Ward married her.

"Happy to be here!" I smiled looking up at Rose, the older women shot a wink to me before sitting down.
"So Rafe.. are you going to introduce us to your new friend?" Ward asked, his tone everything but friendly. I couldn't help but feel a little and for Rafe, Ward has always been hard on him and everyone knew it.

"Yeah uh, so this is Maddie" he said pointing to the bitch, I mean girl. She just smiled and sent an awkward wave to ward and Rose. "You know son, this isn't exactly what I mean by cancel your date for dinner tonight. You know this is a family kinda thing" Ward said, making me open my mouth to defend Rafe out of habit

"Okay but Sierras not family and neither is John B yet here they are" Rafe scoffed, making me close my mouth deciding he was unworthy of my defence tonight. However I didn't even try to hide my hurt at his words, normally I wouldn't care about the Lena things he would say to me and about me but to say I wasn't about of the family stung.

I had never received an invitation to a family dinner held at the Cameron's because they always viewed me as family. We had grown up and went through y everything together.

"Rafe" Rose warned noticing my reaction. "Let's cut the bullshit, we can act like Sierras apart of this "family" all we want, but we all know the real reason she's here is because her actual parents don't care enough about her to be here." Rafe scoffed as the room fell silent.

I stood up and quietly accused myself and went upstairs.

THIRD PERSON POV:

"Good going Rafe, most days it feels like she's more like famiky then you" Wheezie snapped as she went after Sierra. "You're such an idiot Rafe!" Sarah said also going up after Sierra ignoring the look of panic on John bs face as she left him practically defenceless. "I'm just gonna go." Maddie said as she awkwardly stood up and rushed to the front door not wanting to face the Warth of Ward Cameron.

"You know Rafe- That girl has been through so much with her parents yet still manages to wear a smile everyday! She's loves this family and she loves you. Do you know how many times she's lectured me about how I shouldn't be so hard on you? How many times she's stood up for you when you weren't around to see it or all the times she's made it known that you're trying to to get better? She's always ahd your back and sits a damn shame you never seem to have hers" Ward lectured before standing up and making his way out of the dining room.

Rose just sent a glare towards Rafe as she stood up and followed her husband.

"You're a real asshole man yk that? I know I probably don't need to tell you this but you fucked up- like really fucked up... first with the whole beach thing and now with this? I don't know what your endgame is Rafe but if you keep doing this shit you're gonna lose her for good, and I think we both know you don't really want that " John B mumbled before standing up and going off to find Sarah, and the other girls.

As Rafe sat at the table alone all he could think about was what his father had said, Did Sierra really do all those things? Stand up for him when no one else would?

If so,why?

Why would she care so much for him when all he ever did was treat her like shit?
