After everything was said and done.
Is this truly the end?
Did I find my purpose?
Or who I am?

" Lain! "

I turn around to see my close friend Alice running towards me with her hand in the air. Reika and Julie follow behind her.

I like Alice.
She's kind to me
She's kinder than Reika and Julie
I prefer hanging out with Alice alone rather than hanging out with the other two
They're mean and cruel
I never really liked them
Reika would tease me everytime she got the chance
Julie wasn't that bad she was only a little pushy
Alice would always defend me even though I don't deserve such a good friend like her.

" Alice! "

A smile forms on my face as I ran towards her
I gave her a warm embrace before letting go so we could walk to our first period.

" How was your weekend? "

I asked.

" It was fine thanks for asking! How about yours? "

" It was... "

My weekend wasn't really the best. I had to sort out a new reality to live in since the other didn't work out.

[FLASHBACK]

I pant heavily as I gripped my bat firmly.
It's gone.
Everything's gone.
I destroyed it.
I destroyed everything.
I don't need it.
I don't need them.
Kyoko-chan,
Misato-chan,
Touko-san,
Mom and Dad,
no one.
I looked at the mess I made with slight relief
Stress took over most of my emotions though,
who will I have now?
Will I forever be alone in this world?
Will I ever feel loved again?
Will I have a family and friends?
Everything is so difficult.
I don't understand what I did to deserve such an awful life.
Why must I live like this?
Why?

[END OF FLASHBACK]

" Lain? Lain? Are you there? "

I snapped back to reality.
I blink a few times to try and remember what was going on before having my flashback.

" What did I tell you Alice? Lain never pays attention to what anyone says! It's ridiculous! "

" Reika you oughta have some sympathy towards Lain. "

Alice let's out an irritated sigh as she looks back at me.

" I'm... sorry. I was thinking about something, that's all. "

" Thinking about what? "

" I... don't want to talk about it. "

The three went silent for a moment.
It was making me uncomfortable so I decided to say something.

" My weekend went well. "

I slowly look back up at Alice.
She looked back at me with a small smile.
