Alice was sat in her seat in her homeroom class. She shifts uncomfortably as she saw the teacher walking in, she couldn't help but glance down at her desk. God she felt so disgusted with herself. Julie seemed to noticed and leaned over to poke her with the tip of her pencil.

"  Alice? " She calls out to her friend who clearly seemed uncomfortable.

Alice slowly looked up at Julie trying to stifle sobs by biting her lip back, " Yes? "

" What's the matter? You look like you're about to cry or something. "

" It's... It's nothing. " Alice looks back down at her desk trying to avoid any eye contact with her best friend.

"  Are you sure? You don't look okay-- "

"  I said it's nothing! Just lay it off will ya? " Alice's voice raised, she immediately regretted her tone as she saw Julie's face contort to sadness rather quickly.

"  Julie... I'm-- I didn't mean-- "

"  It's alright. I understand. " Julie looks down, dismissing the conversation.

Alice opened her mouth to speak but slowly closed it as she heard the teacher speaking.

[MEANWHILE WITH LAIN]

"  Lain? "

"  Hm? "

" When will you finally join me? "

"  Join... you? "

"  Yes. When will you finally let go of your fear of losing your body and join me in The Wired? "

"  Chisa..."

Lain looks down at her desk. She sighed softly before looking ahead, "  I will think-- " Chisa vanished right before her eyes. She glanced around the classroom to find her classmates looking at her all confused. She quickly propped her book up and buried her face in it from embarrassment.

'  God, why won't they leave me alone? Just look the other way already. '

'  Maybe they'd look away if you weren't letting your delusions get to you, remember what Sensei (Touko) said? They aren't real. '

Lain furrowed her brows, she felt her blood boil. She knew she was just arguing with another part of herself but it almost seemed like that part of her was taunting her which... it was.

'  Lain. None of it is real. '

"  THEY REAL SO COULD YOU JUST SHUT UP ALREADY? "

Lain thought out loud. Her eyes went wide as she felt the stares of students on her, she didn't even need to look. She was... utterly embarrassed. She wanted to jump in a ditch and die.
