It was an ordinary day, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping. It was all downhill from there.

It was the dark and scary yet calming back alley of Allison Drive in Manhattan of New York. A man named Matthew Karlington had recently moved there from Brazil. Although everyone was paranoid because they had heard he was a serial killer.

It was only eleven and sweet, young Emma Charley was walking down her back alley with her four best friends on their way to the mall when they heard an ear piercing shriek and turned around to discover a man lying face-down. It was Emma's boyfriend, Daniel Surban.

They rushed to Daniel. Inspecting him, they found seven stab wounds on his lower back so they assumed that he had been unexpectedly assaulted from behind. Frantically, Emma looked around. She saw the new guy in the neighborhood, Matthew Karlington, the serial killer, walking down the streets with his hands in his pockets and his hood up. "Well that's not suspicious at all," Emma thought to herself.

"That guy. The one who murdered, like, twenty people when he lived in Brazil. It was obviously him. Who else would've done it?" Emma said to one of her friends, Kayla.

"It was definitely him. But why would he murder Danny? Daniel didn't do anything to him, did he?" Kayla replied glaring at the man walking down the street.

Emma shook her head. "I don't know, but I'm calling the police!" she exclaimed. By now she was crying so hard that she was beginning to get a headache.

Twenty minutes went by and the investigator finally showed up with his partner.

"Finally!" Emma shouted, "What took so long?"

Detective Ollie shrugged, "I was hungry. I figured that since he was dead, he wasn't going anywhere so I stopped at Tim Horton's and got a breakfast sandwich before I picked up Detective Coral."

"Are you kidding me? My best friend's boyfriend just got murdered and you have the nerve to stop for food!?" Kayla screamed. Her face was so red that she looked like a tomato.

"Jennie!" Detective Ollie exclaimed, "take pictures of the corpse!"

"Oh, right! Yes, sir. Sorry, sir." Detective Coral said as she snatched the camera from the car. She started snapping pictures from all angles as if she was a professional photographer.

Emma walked up to the detective, "That man! The murderer from Brazil! I think it was him!" She pointed to Matthew Karlington, who was now walking down the street with what looked like a bag of groceries.

Detective Ollie nodded his head, "I know that man very well. I despise him. You sir!" The man stopped walking and turned around, "Come here please, I must speak with you. It's urgent."

Matthew rolled his eyes, gave a grumpy huff, and walked over. "What do you want from me this time?"

"First of all, I would like for you to give a good attitude. Anyway, why did you murder this man? What did he do to you?" Detective Ollie questioned.

"Excuse me? Yeah, okay I did hate this man, but I didn't murder him. Sure, he was obnoxious, rude, arrogant, and quite air-headed but I swear I didn't lay a finger on him," Matthew defended.

"Do not lie to the police force! Turn around, you're coming with me. Downtown bro!" Detective Ollie said as he pulled out his handcuffs.

"But I didn't do it! You have no proof!" Matthew pleaded.

"Silence!" Detective Ollie yelled in Matthew's ear as he stuffed him into his car and drove off to the police station.
