Welcome back!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!Unfortunately and fortunately this is not a spin off of Vexed - so get rid of everything in your mind... we are starting fresh with Ghost! (: It just makes more sense.

The main character is named Alex / Alexandria! :)

Warning. SLOW BURN. KINDA. I'm bad at this.

Another warning: I am going to put TW at the END of the chapter - for those that do not want to be spoiled. For those that need to be cautious, please quickly read the end notes of the chapter to see if there are any TW!

It was dark, cold, and wet. I was currently crawing in thick grass and it was uncomfortable on my body to push it forward every inch I went. I groaned quietly to myself - I had been doing this for at least two hours now. It all started when my group got ambushed by the enemy, we got scattered and I wasn't sure who or who wasn't alive at this point.

I tried not to think about it. All I had to do was get to the spot we all agreed on meeting at if we ever lost contact with each other. We all knew using our radios was a bad idea right now. We promised that we would go quiet if separated so we didn't alert anyone or just in case we were being listened in on somehow.

The grass was sticking to my clothes, there was mud collecting in my gear, and my goggles were doing a horrible job at keeping shit from getting behind them. I pushed them up frustratingly and decided it was better without them on, at least I could actually fucking see.

I started to hear voices and foosteps - I could feel my blood run cold. I stilled, laying on my stomach in the grass. Two men passed me about 10 feet away and as soon as I thought they were going to continue, they stopped.

"Where did they go? We are going to be fucking hounded if we can't even find one!" The guy on the left hissed the words through his teeth.

The guy on the right shrugged his shoulders, repositioning his gun on his hip. "I don't know, A1. They have to be close."

A disturbance to all of our left suddenly pulled our attention, I could barely see above the grass. I heard more footsteps. Two pairs? Yes.

My eyes locked on to the two more guys. One was running away from the second one. Wait... Wait... No.

I could feel my heart stop in my chest and my hands tense up as I kept myself pressed to the ground, head barely raised so I could see. The guy running was my best friend. Danny. The two first soldiers noticed what was going on and ran after him as well, they all caught up pretty quickly - tackling him to the ground.

Fuck. Fuck. FUCK. I gritted my teeth. I was always instructed to not bud in to shit like this but how was I supposed to just lay here? I inched my way forward quicker now, hoping that I could reach him in time. They were around a tree now and about 5 feet away - all three of their backs were turned to me as Danny laid on the ground.

I listened for a few seconds but the adrenaline pumping in my ears seemed to make me only catch parts of the conversation."Can't fucking run from me!" I heard one of them spat, a loud thud, and Danny crying out in pain.

"Is this one of them, confirmed?" Another one asked - one of the earlier guys.

"Doesn't it fucking look like it, A1?!" The guy who originally was chasing Danny screamed out.
