I wanted to fix things with Aaliyah before the day was over with . I couldn't handle her being mad at me for too long. I told Missy and Kim what happened and of course they hit me with the "I told you so" .. I asked them to help me setup a cute little date for us in my room. I wanted us to have some privacy and not have to worry about being interrupted.
Missy and Kim went shopping and picked out some cute decorations for the room. I also asked one the private chefs to cook up some of favorite dishes. I wanted everything to be perfect for her.
The room was setup perfectly. Kim picked out rose petals and candles. They were perfectly placed around the room. Missy got the small table and some wine glasses for us. Everything was set and now I just needed my girl .
It was later in the evening when I found her by herself sitting by the pool. She looked beautiful as always.
"Hey"
She looks up at me "Hey"
"Can we talk?"
She motions for me to sit down next to her so I take a seat.
"I'm sorry about earlier. The last thing I want to do is argue with you."
"I'm sorry too, and I don't want to argue either. I didn't mean to start an argument with you. I just wanted to know if you felt the same way I did."
"I do. I've always had feelings for you."
"You never acted on those feelings and it made me feel like it was one sided. I was always trying to figure out how you felt about me. I knew you cared but I wanted to know if it was deeper."
"So you forgive me?" I ask
"You're forgiven .. but only if you forgive me as well."
"For what?"
"I should have talked to you about how I felt. It should have just been a conversation and not argument. I was just in my feelings and overreacted a little bit" she says
"I didn't mean to make you feel that way at all. I really care about you Aaliyah. You mean more to me than you know. Can I show you something?"
She looks unsure but intrigued. She nods her head and I take her hand. We get to the bedroom door and she pulls her hand away.
She crosses her arms and says "I hope you don't think it's that easy."
Wait, does she think I'm trying to have sex with her?
"It's not like that I swear." I say
I open the door and reveal all the hard work the girls put in helping me. Rose petals , candles , dinner table with her favorite food set up. It was perfect.
"Oh my god" she says . We walk inside so she can get a better view. She was smiling so hard and I couldn't stop staring. She's always said the most beautiful smile.
"I hope you like it" I say
"Are you kidding? I love it. It's so sweet." She says
I pull a chair back for her and she sits down at the table. I sit in the chair across from her.
"I can't believe you did all of this" she says
"I had some help"
She smiles already knowing. "I bet you did."
"I just wanted to do something special for you. You wanted to know how I felt right? Well ... I want you to be mine"
She smiles so hard "You trying to take me off the market Y/n?"
"Yes I am. Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend"
I got her . The woman that everybody wants is mine . She wants me .
We're both blushing so hard that I would be embarrassed if anyone was watching. I pull her into a hug and we embrace for a few minutes.
"So, technically this is our first date huh?" she asks
"Yes it is. Let's eat before the food gets too cold." i say
We eat and talk about everything in the world. She tells me about new music she's been working on and a script she got for a movie. I'm listening intently to everything she's saying. This woman is so fascinating ..
After eating and I let her pick a movie which of course ended up being Poetic Justice . We were laying up together in bed enjoying the movie. She had her head laying on my chest and leg draped over me. I've never felt so complete. In between the movie we ended up having a conversation about what it would be like to meet Janet .. I ended up telling her about the what happened when I met Toni.
Of course she was laughing hysterically.
"Why would you sing to her?" she asks and then laughs again
"I was in the moment and I wanted her to know I really loved that song" I say and I also laugh because I really don't know what I was thinking.
"But babe you can't sing." she says
"Wow , you just gonna disrespect me like that? She seemed to like it by the way"
"Oh did she?" she asks
"Yes she did"
She grabs my face and turns my head towards her "You're not allowed to sing to anybody else that's not me"
That turned me on .
"But you said I couldn't sing"
"You can't, but I'll let you horribly sing any song you want for me.
"So, I can any song I want to you?"
She sighs "Why do I feel like I'm going to regret this?"
"How could the one I gave my heart to Break my heart so bad? How could the one who made me happy Make me feel so sad "
She laughs "Ok that's enough of that"
I laugh "What? You didn't like it?"
"I loved it baby. You sounded just like me"
I suck my teeth and she starts laughing again. I love how silly she was.
"You're so cute." she says
We stare deeply into each other's eyes like we're trying to read each other. I start leaning in to kiss her and I watch her eyes drift down to my lips .. just as our lips were about to connect she puts a finger up to my lips.
"I don't kiss on the first date" she says and winks
She's going to make me work for it . I kinda like that .. tomorrow is Fourth of July and who knows .. it might be more than fireworks popping off tomorrow night.
