Chan’s P.O.V:
I arrived at the hospital in just 15mins. I went inside the building, but then pause for a minute. “What would her parents think? Who am I to come here in this time?” I thought. I took a deep breath and went straight to the girl in the information center.
“Miss, uhm .. Ms. Mosqueda? The girl that’s in to a car accident??” I asked her.
“She’s still at the Emergency Room Sir.” She replied.
I rush down to its way. There, I saw her mom and dad sitting in a bench. Clare noticed me and she went to the corner post where I was standing. “Chan?” she asked. “How is she?” I ask her, my eyes, teary. “No idea.” She whispers. Not thinking, I punched the post. She covered her mouth in surprise. We heard a door opened then close. We both look at the emergency room and saw the doctor talking to their parents. “Go.” I told her. “I’ll be waiting outside. Inform me how she is.” I said and watch her walk back to them. With my head down, I walk to the hospitals lobby. I can’t think of anything but fear; fear of losing her. Losing her in any way…
It was 9:30 when Clare appeared in the lobby. Her eyes were red from crying. My heart, once again beat so fast, I’m shaking. I got up and assist her to a seat next to me. “How is she?” I asked her. “She’s fine, will be transferred into a room now.” She said. “Thank God! But, why are you crying?” I ask confusedly. She looks straight to my eyes and said, “She might have a minor amnesia.” My eyes widen, my heart beats even faster. “No.” I mumble. “This can’t be true. I mean, how sure are you?” I ask her, this time, tears stream down my face. “I’m not sure yet. The doctor said we will know once she’s already awake.” She explained. “How long until she’s up?” I ask her again. “Chan, I don’t know. That’s the only thing I know for now.” She talks softly. “NO!” I raised my voice, “They must give us accurate answers!” I said. “She’ll be up in a day or two.” I froze for a minute, and when I look back, I saw her dad.
“Good evening! I’m Mary’s father, Carl. And you are?” he said. “Good evening sir. I’m Chan. Her classmate.” I replied. We both shake hands and I can feel that my palm was cold. “Hello Chan. It is nice to have you here with us tonight. I mean, it is so unusual. Right?” he clarifies. “Yes sir. Clare informed me about the accident. And I was dazed about it so I rush my way here.” I reply. “Thanks for that.” He said shortly. “Do you wanna see her?” he poses. “Yes sir. Please.” I plead. “Sure. Clare, accompany him to your sister. She’s at room 215.” He said. “But dad, I don’t know where that is.” Clare grumbles. “Go straight that way, then left to the elevator. Then, that’s second floor. Look for room 215.” He instructed. We both head off, but before we’re too far, he called me causing for me to pause and turn around. “Just be careful with her mother.” He told me and then he set off.
