No teenager actually wants to do homework. That's a given. Yet here Jillian sits with a mountain of books next to her, tons of paper, two pencils, three colored pens and barely halfway through completing her homework on a Saturday afternoon. Every year of high school just gets more and more stressful. Hopefully in a few months when she's already accepted into college maybe, just maybe she can relax a bit more.

"What are you doing?" Elisa, Jillian's sixteen year old little sister walks into her room, staring at her like she just grew an ear on her forehead. She looks dressed up, probably about to go out with her other junior year friends.

"Homework. What are you doing?" Jillian counters, genuinely curious on what her sister is up to. Elisa looks up from her phone and meets Jillian's questioning blue eyes with her own gray ones. She shrugs and strides out of her older sister's room without giving a straight answer.

Elisa calls from the hallway, "Going out!" Jillian rolls her eyes at her sister's common attitude. She's used to it though, her sister does what her sister wants. She and Elisa could be either worst enemies or best friends, but what siblings aren't?

"Okay, now back to physics." She sings to herself while running her hand through her caramel colored hair. Jillian's smart, she could give herself that, but sometimes that gets in the way of her social life. See, she plans on being a surgeon and getting the grades and the extra curriculum is the way of getting her there. For hours with pure determination, she'd sit in her baby blue room on her fluffy white bed with all the books she needs. She would take in the comfortable surroundings of her familiar scattered mess, clothes and piano books atop her piano bench and little trinkets in the nooks and crannies of her space. Her white work desk has too many random things to actually work in, but the bed is her preferred option anyway. A big mirror with the wardrobe next to it, a couple of pictures and paintings splattered across her room. This is where she feels most at home.

Hours pass with what always seems like minutes. By now, Jillian is trying her absolute hardest to keep from glancing at her phone. "Okay so homework, right Jill, focus... Oh well." She shrugs as she lunges forward for her iPhone, immediately starting to look through her messages. As suspected, her friends texted her, quite literally threatening to drag her out of the house if she doesn't stop studying. Jillian sighs and glances at the time, 8:17 pm. As she starts to get up to stretch, her phone blares its loud ring tone.

"Hello?" Jillian speaks into her phone.

"Jill? Good, we're outside, let us in or your sister will because she's just come home. You're going out tonight, and as your friends, we feel it is our duty to not give you a say in the matter." Her best friend named Kasey announce. Jill peaks out her bedroom window; Elisa, and her two other friends, Tom and Paige are standing in her backyard.

"Ugh, fine, but tell Els to let you in anyways." She replies and throws open her closet door. Jillian plucks out a plain black form-fitting top, smiling at her favorite variable piece. Her eyes scan her pants pile in her wardrobe, deciding which one would look best.

"Jillian!" Elisa's all-too-familiar and loud shriek booms through the house. "Help me, your friends are weird!" Jillian chuckles, no matter how hard her sister tries to hide it, she knows she loves Jillian's friends. How could she not? Jill's friends are incredibly lovable and slightly erratic, and miles better from the girl group from Hell Elisa befriended her freshman year.

Tom strides into her room with Elisa thrown over his shoulder, she's thumping her fist in mock protest against his back. "Put me down you giant!"

Paige ducks under Tom's swinging figure and plops down on Jillian's bed. "Oh I like that shirt. Wear it with the high-waisted jeans that flare out." She grabs the jeans and throws it at Jillian, motioning for her to go change.
