The sky weeps, releasing its tears upon the earth below, each droplet a reflection of unspoken sorrows. The tears that fall from his eyes mirror the gentle descent of raindrops, each one carrying the weight of unspoken pain. Sadness clinging on his soul, just like the droplets of rain on the leaves.

Why is he crying? He doesn't know...or does he?

In the midst of the bustling hum, he couldn't help but drown in his internal monologue.  He stared into the distance, eyes glazed with the mist of nostalgia. A creased photograph lay before him, capturing a moment when laughter was abundant and their world felt promising. Yet, the characters frozen in the frame seemed like distant strangers now, their smiles mocking.

Did he do the right thing? Maybe he did...but did he actually?

The ringing of the device bought him out of his reverie, the name that was supposed to bring a smile to his face no longer served the same purpose. The realization made guilt gnaw his insides, but there was only so much he could do. Emotions held sway over everyone, and he was no exception. Jungkook sighed heavily before lifting the phone, soon greeted by the shrill timbre of a woman's voice.

"Hello??"

"I can hear your thoughts from downstairs", Taehyung smiled entering the room

"I can hear your thoughts from downstairs", Taehyung smiled entering the room. Yumi was seated near the window with a frown that seemed to have taken residence there permanently over the past few days.

He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "What's worrying that little head of yours?" He ran his hand softly through her hair. "Why do they hate each other?", Yumi asks after a moment of silence. "Jimin and Jungkook", she adds.

With a sigh, Taehyung takes a seat beside her. "That's not my story to tell", he mumbles, looking at the gloomy sky. "Please", Yumi asks softly, her voice quivering. Several moments pass, making the atmosphere tense. "Maybe I can tell you some of it, but it's from my perspective", Taehyung says, earning the attention of the latter.

"Long before you came into our family, it was only the three of us: Jimin, Jungkook, and me. Both were joined at the hip, and I never felt left out, but one could sense a strong connection between those two. As we grew up, Jungkook, being the eldest and the Alpha he was, naturally took on the role of the protector", Taehyung said, reminiscing old memories. "There was never a time when Jimin was out of Kook's watch. They did everything together, went everywhere together. Nobody dared even look in Jimin's direction without pissing their pants", Taehyung says, chuckling. "Why so?" Yumi asked curiously.

"Well, there was a time when a group of rowdy toddlers thought it would be funny to thrash little Jiminie's bag and steal the chicky keychain, gifted by his Koo. But to their bad luck, Kook was on his way to meet his little Jiminie. It wasn't their wisest decision; Kook made sure to make them realize who they'd be dealing with if they so much as thought of touching Jimin. Being the teacher's favorite, he got away with it, but no one dared trouble Jimin after that."

"Every step of his life, Kook was there to help him or be the cheerleader he is. Just being with both of them was a breath of fresh air. All good things, inevitably, meet their end, and so did this. Here we find ourselves, now residing in different cities, far apart from one another," Taehyung let out a puff of breath, the scent of burnt coffee now enveloping them. "But what happened?" inquired Yumi. "Misunderstandings," Taehyung stated.

"Wait, wait, how did you guys meet again?" Yumi asked. "Family friends, our parents were best friends since school days, apparently. We thought we'd end up the same, but fate had other plans," Taehyung said. "Parents?" Yumi asked, confused. "Well, you see, Kook is your Jinnie's son," Taehyung stated cautiously. "WHAT!? How do I not know?! How can I not know something like this?? HOW?!" Yumi shrieked. "Hey, hey, calm down," Taehyung held her face between his hands. "I know you don't remember everything after that day, so please don't freak out, take deep breaths," he said, releasing calming pheromones.

"But bu-but--" Yumi stuttered. "Hush now, enough questions for today," Taehyung said, getting up. "It's time for bed, get up," he said, guiding the shocked girl to her bed. "We'll talk tomorrow, now sleep," he said, tucking her in.

The next day was crucial, holding secrets that needed revealing. It was the time to ease the struggles of the two most important people in her life. Her mind searched for answers only one could answer. Amid the swarm of unanswered questions, Yumi's mind succumbed to the onset of a headache. The throbbing pain became a lullaby, gently coaxing her into a sleep where the whispers in her head were put, momentarily at rest.
