Giyuu

Giyuu woke up to the sound of his squire banging on his door,

"GIYUU, YOU DEAF LITTLE SHIT OPEN THE- door, Hi there, fancy seeing you awake." Sabito had stopped shouting as Giyuu let him inside.

Sabito was just a 7-year-old when his trainer, Sakonji Urokodaki, had rescued him during a storm. He had already been an orphan, but since then, he had been living with Urokodaki-sensei. Sabito was around the same age and height as Giyuu, however, he sported peachy-coloured, shoulder-length hair, with bluish-grey eyes and a scar on his face, stretching from just under his ear to almost the corner of his mouth. He had gotten it when the palace was under attack. Giyuu had helped in the initial fight, but was rendered incapacitated during the climax of the battle.

—‡—

Giyuu was slammed into a corner, warm crimson blood spilling out of a gash, situated deep inside his skin from his clavicle to his bottom rib. His vision started to darken, like a dark snowfall upon his gaze.
He saw a figure inching toward him with a menacing aura. Giyuu could barely just make out a weapon– a long blade, with a gilded hilt, handle gripped by a forest green and vermilion clad hand. Before his consciousness started to fade in and out, Giyuu saw his saviour, draped with a green and yellow geometrical pattern– Sabito. He could barely make out what he was saying, his hearing blanking with his state of being.

"Shit, Giyuu...."

"...Bleeding.... Getting worse.."

SLASH

Before being completely knocked out cold, Giyuu felt the warm splatter of blood. A panic settled in his bones as the fatigue and injury enveloped his system.

—‡—

Since then, as a token of Giyuu's gratitude, the very yukata Sabito had worn then was tailored into a special haori for Giyuu to keep the sole reason he is alive now with him as remembrance for his best friends' bravery.

"What does Father want now?" Giyuu asked solemnly.

"Dude, it's serious, I believe it was something about your future or whatever- I didn't stay long enough to hear cause I knew you would take ages to wake up. Seriously, what the hell do you do in your free time?"

"Not much really, train, hunt, yesterday I met an annoying little insect of a girl– the usual."

"Back up here, You met a girl? My best friend is all grown up now! Getting girls, hooking up in the forest–"

Giyuu cut him off before he could get carried away,

"Don't get any weird ideas, Sabito."

"You said you met a girl! What other ideas could I get?"

"I could say the same thing about you and Makomo."

Sabito immediately turned scarlet.

"I told you it's not like that! She's just a very good– uhh.. Friend? Friend! Yes, that's it, she's just a very good friend."

Giyuu started to brush his hair as Sabito shoved his hand in Giyuu's closet and grabbed at random.

"Yeah, sure, I definitely believe that you and Makomo have nothing going on and you two are very good friends." Giyuu said teasingly.
