One hour, an empty bottle of Firewhisky and a pack of cigarettes later, Jamie found herself comfortably sitting between Asher and Inka in their tent, eagerly talking about the game.

The air around the campsite was buzzing with excitement; chatter and laughter echoing from every corner and tent — even the Bulgarian fans were drunk on happiness.

It had been Cyrus, who first felt the mood tip — a strange shift in the way the yells around the campsite sounded. He slowly untangled his lips from Dotty, standing up from where the two were cuddled up on the floor, "You hear that?", he whispered.

"What?", Dotty muttered sleepily, lifting her head slightly to look at him, "Sit back down, Cy. You're being paranoid."

But then they heard it too — screams of terror, the sound of footsteps running down the grass and suddenly the opening to the tent was ripped open, revealing a panting man, who Jamie recognised as Dotty's father, "Someone is attacking us", he chocked out, "You need to run, kids, to the woods— now."

Jamie felt her blood run cold and her mind immediately went to her family; Everett, Icarus, Bennett, her dad, Charlie... were they okay?

The campsite went by in a blur as Jamie ran through the mess of people and tents. She had lost sight of Alaska, Inka and Cyrus, but Dotty and Asher were both still tightly latched on each of her hands. Looking back later on, Jamie couldn't recall how she had even gotten to the woods — It was a sight reserved for her nightmares; people tripping over each other, children crying for their mothers, tents that had been filled with joy just moments before now lit up in flames.

The woods itself was a different kind of terrifying. The sounds from the campsite were muffled, held away by the huge trees all around her and as comforting as it seemed, the newfound silence only heightend Jamie's panic. She could feel her heart beat harshly in her chest, hear the blood rush in her ears — She had tripped over something on the ground, staggered for a moment and then came crushing to the ground painfully, Asher and Dotty gone from her sight in seconds. Her knee was scrapped and bleeding, but what had her weary was her ankle, that was a twist in an unnatural way.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

She had crawled into the woods, trying to find a sense of safety, but was instead met with a sheer endless darkness and only her own mind to keep her sane. It was moments like these, when she cursed Ilvermorny for taking away their wands for the holidays.

She didn't know how long she had been sitting there on the ground, leaned against a tree, her ankle now pulsating with pain, when suddenly someone, something, came stumbling through the thicket, followed by a hushed Lumos. It took Jamie's eyes a few moments to adjust to the light before she could see the face of a boy's face, illuminated by the wand in his hand. He seemed about her age; sharp cheekbones and big hazel eyes, brown hair that reminded Jamie of Icarus'.

"Are you okay?", he asked with a distinctive british accent, as his eyes fell on her hunched form. He was by her side in seconds, kneeling next to her, his eyes travelling from her pale face to her hand holding her ankle, "Oh shit, that doesn't look good."

"Yeah, you could say that.", Jamie barked back, protectively wrapping her arms around her middle.

"Hey", the boy muttered, "I'm not here to hurt you. I lost my friends and thought the woods would be safer than the path. Here, let me help you.", he put his wand between his teeth in a swift motion, as he took of his scarf, cautiously wrapping it around her ankle.
