Luka was walking to the bus as the team was set to leave. Unfortunately for him, Sergio opted for taking a taxi there, because there's be more room and less movement. So Luka was stuck walking to practice alone doing his best to get his head in the game.

"You sitting with me today?" Cristiano asked Luka as he arrived looking for a place to sit.

"Yeah. Is that alright?" Luka asked.

"Of course," Cristiano grinned happy to be seated next to his close friend.

"Hey have you been alright lately? I feel like I don't see you celebrating anymore," Luka stated as the bus began to move.

"I'm alright," Cristiano glanced away.

"Are you sure? We're friends if something has been bothering you, you can always talk to me," Luka encouraged.

"Yeah the media has just been putting a lot on me lately. Calling me names and washed it's just getting to be a lot," Cristiano admitted.

"I'm sorry man. You know all of us couldn't be able to do it without you," Luka tried to help out.

"Thanks bro," Cristiano did his best to force a smile. The bus ride was awkward and uncomfortable for Luka. Everyone was talking and joking around, meanwhile Luka was sat worrying about anything and everything. His leg shook as he stared out the window feeling a sense of dread wash over him.

The only thing Luka could want during stressful times like these, is Sergio. When Luka was lost in his head and felt like all he could think about was his life back in Croatia the only thing that pulled him out was Sergio.

He hadn't even realized that the bus has stopped and most of the team had left. He walked into the Bernabéu stadium with his head down avoiding all the paparazzi and the craziness.

"Sergio!" When Luka saw the man in the locker room he wanted nothing more than to run to him. Instead he quickly walked over so not to be suspicious.

Sergio let Luka hug him no matter how uncomfortable it made his leg. He wrapped an arm around Luka and kissed his forehead not afraid of anyone's thoughts.

"Luka did something happen?" Sergio looked down at Luka's worrisome expression. Luka didn't want to say anything especially since Sergio was the injured one.

"I'm okay," Luka didn't let go of his hold on Sergio.

"Amor," Sergio softened his voice, "We're going to be alright." Luka didn't feel like the words were registering in his head and he suddenly felt like he was drowning.

"Time to line up!" Ancelotti yelled out for the players to get ready. Luka could barely hear he suddenly felt really dizzy.

"Luka hurry up!" Ancelotti didn't like the way Luka was swaying.

"I'll be out in one of the lower level seats," Sergio waved to Luka before walking out. Luka was seeing blurry and he was feeling like he was losing his footing. He was breathing heavily as they positioned themselves. The screams from the crowd was making Luka's head pound and he could hardly make out what was happening.

"Luka pass up!" Benzema was screaming at him.

"Fuck," Luka felt himself drenched in sweat and he felt like every time he moved he was in pain.

"Come on Luka!!" His teammates were all yelling. The crowd was yelling. Luka's thoughts were screaming at him. When the whistle sounded he could hardly tell if he was present or not.

"Luka I'm taking you off!" Ancelotti screamed. Luka didn't respond, he couldn't.

'Where's Sergio?' The only thought that made sense in Luka's loud head. Luka swallowed roughly, excusing himself from the locker room and intense conversation, he ran to the bathroom and locked the door.

Luka began to hyperventilate feeling like the air he had was being sucked out of him. The pressures of the team, a secret relationship, and his country were all weighing over him.

'I'm not enough,' The thought rang through Luka's head. The walls were caving in on him and he felt like at any moment he'd pass out in the dark bathroom.

"Luka! Are you in there?!" Sergio was yelling through the door moving it as hard as he could.

"Luka please!" Sergio was begging still pulling at the door.

"Sergio," Luka found his voice and used a shaky hand to open the door.

"Shit," Sergio saw the sight before him. He shut the door and slowly slid to meet Luka on the floor.

"Luka? Can you look at me?" Sergio asked gently. Luka was embarrassed being caught in such a state, his knees were pulled up to his chest and he was sure he looked a mess.

"Can I touch you?" Sergio looked at Luka softly. Luka nod his head trying to get his breathing to even out. Sergio draped an arm around Luka's shoulder whilst whispering to him reassuring messages.

"We're going to go home and I'm going to make you forget all this mess even happened," Sergio sounded so confident. Luka just wanted some of the surety, to be able to walk around without caring about everything.

"I'm sorry," Luka whispered as he managed to breathe regularly.

"Don't be sorry," Sergio told the blonde man.

Luka felt more tears flow down his face, "I'm sorry Sergio. I shouldn't be the one being coddled."

"Don't say that. You've made me feel again. Made me want to be in a relationship. The least I can do is be there for you when you need me," Sergio said genuinely.

Sergio wiped away Luka's tears and looked at his tear stained face for a second, "Because I love you." Luka felt peace wash over him like he always did when he was with Sergio.

"I love you," Luka hugged Sergio strongly needing to forget about everything going on around him. When Luka and Sergio walked out of the bathroom they came back to the news of a 4-1 loss meaning there place in the champions league was gone and they were set to finish third in la liga.

Even most were saying their copa del rey chances were slim. But with everything that Luka felt happening to himself he wasn't sure futbol was his biggest fear.

Right now he wanted to focus on his relationship and nothing else because everything else frustrated him. Sergio was his escape and he'd hold onto it for as long as possible.
