Memories are Forever

"How do I look?" Luka looked at himself anxiously in the mirror. He was meeting Sergio's parents today, not only that but they chose to stay the whole weekend.

"Luka what did you do to your hair?" Sergio laughed looking at how Luka jelled all his hair back in a ridiculous manner. Sergio ruffled Luka's hair giving it its natural waves.

He smiled down at Luka and spoke, "Much better."

"Sergio!" Luka touched his hair still staring at the mirror. Luka sighed not feeling prepared to meet them at all.

'What if they don't like me? What if they tell Sergio to leave me?' Luka's mind swarmed with negative thoughts.

"Hey I don't know what you're thinking but they're gonna love you," Sergio reassured Luka catching the worried look on Luka's face.

"I'm nervous," Luka admitted biting the corners of his mouth.

"Don't be, because they're about to replace me with you," Sergio joked to lighten up the air.

Luka took a deep breathe in, "Thank you. I love you."

Sergio leaned down and kissed Luka on the lips, "I love you too. Now get your cute self in the car because we have to go," Sergio grabbed their duffel bags and made sure to lock the door before starting the drive there.

Luka knew what Sergio had said about relaxing and to trust that his parents already liked him. But Luka was dying of nerves the whole ride there.

He was scared not for himself but for Sergio. He didn't want to be the reason for Sergio's parents to hate him. He didn't want to ruin Sergio's life and now he felt even worse than before they left.

"We're here," Sergio spoke confidently. Luka hadn't even realized he'd spent the whole drive beating himself up.

'Please can we turn around?' Luka wanted to ask. Instead he put on a smile and chose to walk up the steps with Sergio to knock on the door. Luka stepped behind Sergio as they waited for someone to open the door.

"Miriam?" Sergio questioned as he saw a tall women pass through the door.

"Sergio!!" The women wrapped her arms around the man.

She quickly let go to greet Luka who she seemed to be expecting, "Sergio's boyfriend Luka! Come here it is so good to meet you." She wrapped her arms around a very confused Luka.

"This is my sister Miriam," Sergio introduced Luka who was finally released.

"She's a little bit crazy so just ignore her," Sergio teased his sister.

"Whatever," She rolled her eyes ushering for the two of them to come in.

"It's nice to meet you," Luka said politely.

"Thank you it's good to see some people still have manners," Miriam glared at her brother.

"Is Rene here as well?" Luka caught on that Sergio was asking for his brother.

"He said he couldn't make it," Miriam sympathized.

"It's alright I didn't even know you were coming," Sergio stood back still in shock.

"Luka you have to tell me about yourself. Do you like wine? We can drink and sit by the couch," Miriam offered.

"Wait. We have to say hello to mama and papa," Sergio stopped his sister from pulling off Luka.

"Plus Luka is horrible with his liquor and I don't want him tipsy before dinner," Sergio remarked causing Luka to smack him lightly.

"Fine but i'll be waiting," Miriam announced before turning to walk down the corridor. After meeting such an energetic sibling Luka felt at least somewhat at ease.
