The Big Reveal

Since Cristiano had left, most of the team felt demoralized like they were the old generation. Especially after such a horrendous season some players were beginning to think they had lost their touch. For Luka it was becoming a bit too much to handle so for now he would try to enjoy the season break.

"Hey Luka," Sergio's calm voice brought Luka back to reality.

"I'm going to go buy groceries I'll be back soon. Unless you want to come with me?" Sergio invited Luka out.

"It's okay I'll wait for you," Luka smiled. Sergio couldn't help but smile with him, he leaned down and kissed Luka before walking out of the door. Luka took this quiet opportunity to tidy their apartment and deep clean.

Weirdly, Luka found cleaning calming. It was his own distraction from all the chaos around him. When he finished he sat on the couch trying to find anything entertaining on the tv. The doorbell rang causing Luka to furrow his brows in confusion.

Usually Sergio just unlocked the door and walked in and it was not like Luka was expecting any sort of company. He got up and looked through the peep hole to find a girl in a tight dress looking around impatiently. Luka unlocked the door out of curiosity getting ready to question her.

"Hello is Sergio home?" She spoke before Luka could.

"I'm sorry who are you?" Luka was taken aback.

"Oh I'm sorry. I'm Sergio's girlfriend Maria," She grinned widely.

"Oh are you?" Luka felt a mad grin take hold of his face.

"Yeah do you know if he lives here?" Maria asked glancing around.

"You know what? I think he'll be home soon. I'm his roommate Luka," Luka was angry but he wanted to get as much information from this women as he could without being suspicious. He invited her in to talk by the couch and brought over two glasses of wine.

"So can I ask why you've never been around?" Luka and Sergio's relationship wasn't a new thing anymore. They've dated for years at this point and for Sergio to cheat on him now felt crazy. Not when Sergio had felt and seemed so in love and genuine.

"Well we were highschool sweethearts and dated up until he signed for Real Madrid. We were on and off a bit but I'm here to talk it out with him," She seemed determined to leave with Sergio.

"Oh do you mind me asking when the last time you talked was?" Luka needed to know if Sergio and his relationship had overlapped with theirs.

"Maybe two months into when he transferred," She spoke confidently. Luka felt his heart sink as that was when they'd first slept with each other.

"You shouldn't be with me Luka. I'm not a good person."

Luka remembered the words Sergio had spoken to him and now he felt like a fool for making him feel better about it. It made Luka feel like their relationship was built off a lie.

The door swung open and Sergio walked in with the groceries, "Lukita mi amor I'm home!"

"Sergio," Luka called for Sergio from the couch. Maria smiled brightly thinking that Sergio would appreciate the surprise. Sergio settled the groceries on the table now able to lift his head to see Maria and Luka drinking wine.

"I don't know what she's told you but it's a lie," Sergio walked over and picked Luka up from the couch.

"Sergio I've been trying to get in touch with you for years now. Why the hell haven't you responded? Ever since you've moved here you've just ghosted me," Maria's voice rose and she began to scold him.

"Because I'm in love with someone else. You need to leave. The only reason I ever even texted you was to tell you to leave me alone," Sergio was desperate to get her out. Luka felt his heart tighten he didn't know how to feel.

"Sergio what are you talking about?" Maria was confused and visibly upset, "Your family would want you with me."

"My mother hated me with you. Not only that but I'm in love with a man. I'm in love with Luka. I think you should respect that and leave," Sergio said it without any sign of hesitation. Luka thought he'd throw up at any second it was like his world was spinning.

"Ha ha Sergio not funny," Maria snapped at him.

"It's true so go," Sergio's voice was full of hatred as he clearly didn't want to deal with this right now.

"Sergio it wasn't funny the first time. Just drop it," She was practically commanding it.

"Sergio," Luka tugged at Sergio's shirt signaling for him to stop.

"Well you always were a visual learner," Shocking everyone, Sergio pulled Luka in for a strong kiss.

"Is that enough for you?" Sergio asked sarcastically.

"You're going to regret this Sergio. I'll make sure that if you're not with me you're not happy," She menaced before turning to Luka.

"Maria don't you dare think that you can hurt him," Sergio was on guard.

"I'm sure the media will eat this up," Maria stormed out slamming the door.

"Luka," Sergio turned to Luka feeling regret wash over him.

"I'm so scared," Luka held onto Sergio for support.

"I'm sorry Luka," Sergio embraced Luka strongly.

"It's not your fault Sergio. I know you meant right by it," Luka's voice was shaky.

"Amor," Sergio urged Luka to look at him, "We should tell our friends before the media does." Luka felt goosebumps trail his skin and he couldn't tell if anything was real or not.

Still he put on a brave face, "You're right."

They sat by the couch and decided to make the first call, "Nacho are you there?"

"Yeah I'm here Sergio what's up?" Nacho asked. Luka allowed Sergio to make the first call, at least until Luka felt like he could breathe properly again.

"Dude there's been something I've been meaning to tell you," Sergio admitted.

"Yeah?" Nacho asked.

"Me and Luka are dating," The line was quiet.

"Is that it?" Nacho questioned.

"What do you mean 'Is that it?'" Sergio asked in shock.

"If that's all you were worried about you're a bigger idiot than I thought," Nacho laughed.

"Nacho you bitch," Sergio couldn't help but chuckle.

"Yeah most of the team was betting on it actually. Let me know if I can go collect my money," Nacho spoke seriously.

"Betting on it?!" Luka asked from the couch.

"Luka!!!" Nacho yelled into the phone.

"Why would you ever settle for Sergio?" Nacho seemed concerned.

"Okay Nacho if that's all, I have more calls to make," Sergio replied annoyed.

"You're so-" Sergio cut the call before Nacho could insult him. Luka burst out laughing partially due to relief and partially due to Nacho's stupidity.

"You know Sergio, I love you. We'll figure everything out," Luka stood up and hugged Sergio again. Sergio was at a loss for words he knew what it meant for Luka to face the public.

"I love you," Sergio kissed Luka, feeling completely consumed by his feelings for Luka. They may have been scared but they felt so strongly for each other that they were prepared to take things as the came even if it meant handling all the hate.
