------------------------------------------------------------

It was Miles' birthday. He had a party today as well and I got invited, of course as we've kissed multiple times and haven't made our relationship official.

But anyway, I got Miles the new 2K23 game, since he's told me before how much he looovessss 2K. I also put a card in there, like one of those cute ones. The dollar store had a Spider-Man-themed birthday card for someone turning 16. Which is Miles! The card even had the same color scheme.

The outfit I wore was just one of my regular day-to-day outfits. Nothing special, per se. But I did style my hair into a claw clip.

As I started to leave, the place his party was held was within a 25-minute walking distance from my house. So I decided to listen to some music on the way there, as I always do.

When I finally arrived, I was holding his gift in my hand. The building had some loud rap music coming from the inside and it almost blew my ear drums. I knocked on the door and nobody answered so I let myself in since the door was unlocked.

The party had at least 100 heads, which makes a lot of sense because the building was huge.

I was standing in a corner, holding the gift bag for Miles and looking just plain stupid. Miles then started looking around and he spotted me, so he decided to come over to where I was and greeted me with a dap up. His parents come shortly after. Jeff and Rio.

Miles saw his parents come closer to us and he introduced us to each other. "Mami, Dad. This is Y/N," he said with a soft smile as he looked back and forth to his parents and to me.

"Nice to meet you---Mr. And Mrs. Morales," I smiled and held my hand out for them to shake.

"Ay, you're very pretty," Miles' mom smiled as she looked back over at Miles. "Is this that girl that you told me that is sort of your jeva?" his mother teased, looking giddy.

"Mami..." Miles whispered to his mother in embarrassment. His mom nudged his dad and his dad started to introduce himself.

"Hello, I'm Lieutenant Morales, you're---Y/N, yes?" Mr. Morales raised a brow. I nodded and he crossed his arms over his chest. He started staring at me hard. Like super hard.

"Who's your parents, Y/N? Or what's your last name?" Mr. Morales asked as he started narrowing and squinting his eyes back and forth at me.

"Jacqueline and Douglas Bolden," I answered truthfully. Mr. Morales' eyes widened and his jaw dropped out of surprised happiness.

"You for real? I used to go to high school with
both of them," Mr. Morales laughed. "Your father and I used to be like this," he said as he crossed his middle and index finger. I started to laugh along with Mr. Morales and we started talking a little bit.

Miles' mom, Rio, went to the head of the table, took the microphone, and tapped it to get everyone's attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen---we have gathered you here today for my son, Miles' sweet 16," Miles' mother before giving a whole speech about her son and he was standing right next to his mother with a warm smile.

"To our wonderful son Miles, on your sweet 16, we couldn't be prouder of the person you've become. Your kindness, determination, and compassion inspire us every single day. Embrace this new chapter of your life, chase your dreams fearlessly, and know that we'll always be here, cheering you on. Happy birthday! Love, Mami, and Dad." his mother smiled after the heart-touching speech and the whole room started to cheer for Rio, after the cheering, a long wave of silence washed over the room.
