Almost

———

A love was made out of
near misses and almost encounters.
Like two people who brushed shoulders
when they walk past each other
or two parallel lines
that could never be together.

A love were eyes that never met.
It was dancing together,
but not with eachother.
It was a perfect picture
clung on a broken frame;
a light that was promised
at the end of a never-ending tunnel.

Like a car crash that never took place,
two people who briefly touched shoulders,
one leaving with smile and
one was left melancholy.

But when our paths finally collided;
It was as if we met just so we could know
how it feels to let go of a love that never bloomed.

A love that almost happened.

We hoped there was a way to forget someone
we knew you'd always remember.
We never found a way just as tragic as we
couldn't make eachother stay.

We danced under the April rain,
we laughed and we cried
as soon as the downpour was over.

We almost loved as if it was enough.

It almost was.
