Emma was meeting Jax at the Seven in about 10 minutes. He had texted her a little while ago. He wanted to talk to her before she chose between him and Daniel. But Emma didn't know that that was why.
And Emma was early. She was waiting at the door when she heard Jax screaming.
"No! Why do you think I liked her?!" He was laughing a bit now, and Emma paused before entering. She saw the back of him, and he was talking to someone she didn't recognize yet. Neither of them saw her.
"I knew you didn't. " the person who he was speaking to laughed now to. It was Mia.
"Then, you're on my side right?" Jax seemed like this was the most obvious question. He figured she would say yes.
Mia hesitated. "What's in it for me?"
"Daniel, obviously. " Jax laughed again.
Daniel? Emma was really confused.
"But what about Emma?"
"Emma will be gone. "
"Okay fine. Deal. " Mia shook Jax's hand, then picked up her backpack and left. Jax sat down in the chair. He still didn't see Emma, and Emma wasn't in his sight anymore. She backed up a few feet, just enough to see Diego and Maddie hiding just outside the counter. They were behind the wall, in the kitchen so Jax couldn't see them. They saw Emma too, and they gave her confused looks.
Emma's phone vibrated in her pocket. It was Jax.
'Hey em. I'm at the seven. See you soon. :)'
She texted back, pretending she didn't know any of this.
'Hey Jax. I'm just leaving my house. See you soon. (:'
She got another text. This time it was Diego.
'Okay what going on?'
'I have no idea. Pretend nothing happened. I have a plan.'
Emma looked up at Diego and Mia and they both nodded. Emma smiled then walked in.
"Hey Jax. "
"Hey Emma. That was fast. " he smiled and Emma sat across from him.
"Yeah, well" Emma faked laughed. "I don't live that far." She fake laughed again.
He fake laughed too.
Diego walked over. "Hi guys. " he smiled and Emma was pretty sure it was fake.
"Hi Diego. " Emma smiled. She felt like all of this was fake, but she needed. Jax to think that they don't know anything.
