"Wowie, talk about a makeover!" I commented, looking around. The bold, bright aesthetic had completely changed. It was more of like... Sakura flowers and clear blue skies.

I had an oversized grey hoodie tied around my waist, and a baggy light cream-colored crop top with long sleeves and ripped jeans.

"Woah, what happened to your somehow war-supplied jacket?" Hanako questioned, raising an eyebrow curiously.

"Well, we're going to a festival, so I don't really need any of that, right?" I crossed my arms. "A pocketknife should be good enough, in case something stupid happens. I thought I'd try out soft light colors."

"The total opposite of who you really are!" Hanako teased.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! I CAN TOTALLY BE SOFT!" I huffed.

"Yeah, yeah, sure. You look... good." He looked away.

"..." Kou glanced at me, as if he was about to say something before turning around.

"Alright. We girls have to get ready. And... [l/n], what gender are you?" Yako asked, staring up at me.

I looked up from my hands. "Gender? Who needs one?" I tilted my head to the side.

The former Number Two just stared at me awkwardly.

"Well then, you go on ahead and wait for us." Yako shoved us out the door.

We looked down. There were many brightly colored stands below us, as well as many different apparitions.

"Woah, cool!" I exclaimed, stars lighting up my eyes. "This is my first time going to a festival, so this is really nice."

"Huh? You've never been to a festival before?" Hanako asked, floating behind me.

"Crowds scare me. Besides, going to festivals mean going to stalls. And going to stalls mean interacting with people." I mumbled, looking away.

"Oh, I see!" The boy smiled mischievously. "In that case... I'll just go with you if you feel nervous. I can do the talking."

"Thank you!" I cheered, hugging him closely.

"[y/n], you're crushing me." Hanako groaned.

"So, the School's Boundaries aren't just for the Seven Mysteries?" Kou butted in, crossing his arms.

"There are actually a ton more that don't have masters, and they're bigger too. Of course, that makes them more chaotic." Hanako explained.

"So this is a Boundary Festival?"

"Yup. The Tanabata Star Festival."

"Oh, that reminds me! Both of you, hold still." The ravenette said, pulling out something. "Taadaah! Triangle crowns!"

"Wait... but aren't those for.." Kou stared.

"Yup. They're for dead people."

"Boundary Festivals are sponsored and attended by supernaturals. If they find out there's living humans in the crowd, things could get annoying. Someone might try to eatcha. So we'll use these to pretend you're supernaturals!" Hanako tied the crown around my head, before moving onto Kou's.
