The Hockey Player

Hallway "Talk"

We haven't talked in two weeks. We had conversation but never about that night and our thoughts. I always looked at him. He was so perfect. He seemed to have such grace I would have thought he was a god.

"Hey Jenna" Ben says smiling from cheek to cheek his dimples indenting his skin and his eyes crinkle at the edges.

"Hey Ben. You seem excited" I say looking at him.
"I am" he says his eyes never leaving mine.

People start to trickle in. Alex comes and kisses my temple.
"Hey " he says
"Hey" I smile
We turned to face the board and listen to the geography teacher drone on until we have to do independent work. My phone buzzes. I look at the lit up screen

-come outside I need to talk to you- Ben says
-about- I ask
-stuff- I look back at him he smiles at me.
-okay :)- I say
I turn my phone off and put my hand up.

"Sir can I go to the washroom" I say once he looks up at me

"Yes please take the attendance with you" he says handing me the sheet.

I walk out and slow down my pace waiting for Ben. I reach the turing point of the hall and wait for Ben. He walks up to me and nods his head stating that we should keep walking.
I walk beside him my heart beating 20 miles a minute.
"Ladies first" he says opening the door to the attendance office.
I walk in and place the sheet in the box. I quickly walk out and follow Ben.
"Okay so what do you want to talk about" I say stoping by my locker.
"You wanna go see a movie today ?" He says
"Uh yea sure" I say smiling

this is it, we are gonna get married and have like 2 children and oh my god.

"Okay so I'll pick you up at eight?" He says.
"Okay" I smile.

He takes a step towards me and makes the space between us small. His full lips ever so close. He closes the distance and places a kiss on my lips. It was short, sweet. Making you want more. He backs away and smiles.
He takes my hand in his and walks us to class. I walk in first and Rianna's eyes went wide.

"You kissed him," she says "no wait. He kissed you." She says smiling

"Maybe" I sigh

"Holy shit. You like him and Alex?" She asks

"Nope i think he's the one Rianna. Like you and Joe." I say

"OH.MY.GOD." she squeals.

Ben looks at us funny.

"She and Joe are going to this really nice place tonight. She's really excited" I lie

"Yeah, I'm so excited" she squeals

He smiles at us and goes back in conversation with Alex.
"Best part," I say "we're going to see a movie" I say
she starts waving herself as if hot.
"Oh my. You are growing up so fast" she says wiping fake tears.
"Haha very funny" I scrunch up my nose
Rianna and I turn towards their table and start to talk to them. As I'm laughing at a joke Alex told Ben takes my hand under the table and hold it. I smile at him as he squeezes it.
I flip my hair, which was code for look under the table and sees him holding my hand.
"Hey Ben?" She says to him
"Yea" he says
"Can we switch spots I have to copy something from the board but I don't want to turn around" she asks
"Yea sure" he smiles.
I look at Rianna dumbfounded.
He sits next to me and moves his chair slightly closer to mine. Our knees touch. He holds my hand under the table and talks as if natural.
The bell rings showing it was 3rd lunch. We clean up and leave.
"See you guys later" I wave at the guys as they go to class while Rianna and I go to lunch.
I'm so ready for all the things she has to tell me about my first date tonight.
