y/n's pov
i woke up and see the time was 8:30. i smile and remember it was my birthday. i check to see if i got any notifications from my friends. i didn't see any. they're most likely not awake. so it'll be okay.

i skip down the steps in a good mood, and i walked over to the fridge to make me some food for breakfast. i ended up making cereal.

i walk back up to my room and sit on my bed. as i turned on my tv, i got a text from jj. he wasn't able to spend my birthday with me like the rest of my friends.

he was away in another state for a couple of weeks helping his uncle with something.

i've had the hugest crush on jj since we were little kids. i haven't told him yet.

jj💃:
hey y/n :), i know i can't be there today, but i just wanted to say happy birthday to you. i'm so thankful to call you my best friend.

y/n:
thank you jj, that really means a lot :)

i set down my phone and finish eating my food. i ended up watching 'how to lose a guy in 10 days'. i loved that movie so much.

i heard shuffling in the kitchen. i open the door and see my brother john b. "hey, john b." i say, sitting in the counter. "hello y/n." he says.

maybe he remembered. hopefully. "so, any plans today?" i ask. "uh, yep, i'm hanging out with sarah today. why?" my shoulders sag a little. "just wondering that's all." i reply, hopping off of the counter.

i walk to the porch and see pope. "hey pope, watcha doing today?" i ask. "uhm, just helping my dad deliver stuff. oh shit! that reminds me, i gotta go." he says, leaping off of the couch. i sigh.

maybe my best friend remembered. kiara walked over and sat beside me. "any plans today?" i ask kiara. kiara nods her head.

"yep, i'm helping my parents at the wreck. speaking of which i have to go do that now." she says. "oh, any plans after?" i ask.

"yep, i have a date with a guy from school." she says, "well i gotta go now, bye." she says, walking out of the door

oh, maybe they did forget. john b walked out in fresh clothes. "okay, i'm leaving for sarah's right now, so you'll have the house to yourself for a couple of nights. because well you know, i'm gonna be sleeping over there." he says, walking out of the door.

i sigh and sit back into the couch. alone. that's what i always am. they always are like this. i wish jj was here.

throughout the day, i watched many movies and ate tons of popcorn. i set down the popcorn bowl as the credits for little women started running on.

looking out the window, i see the sun start to set. i wipe away my tears from my eyes that were threatening to come out. it's okay thag i didn't get anything for my birthday, but what did hurt was that everyone except jj forgot to wish me a happy birthday.

i walked to the refrigerator and pulled out a cupcake i was saving. i also grabbed a lighter and a candle.

i stuck the candle in the cupcake and lit it with the lighter. "happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me." i started mumble. tears falling down my cheek. i closed my eyes and made a wish, and blew out the candle.

i sat on the floor of the kitchen crying. i couldn't hold it in. my own brother forgot my birthday. i feel a hand caressing my head. i look up and see jj kneeling in front of me.

"hey, hey, why are you crying? birthdays are supposed to be fun." he said, stoking my hair. "well, it would be, if everyone besides uou forgot about my birthday." i mumble.

jj took his thumb to my face and wiped away my tears.

jj's pov
"hey, it's okay, i'm here. i'll celebrate it with you." i whisper, holding onto her. she smiles at me. her smile was so beautiful. she doesn't know how in love with her i am.

i lean forehead and kiss her, but quickly pull back. "shit im sorry, i shouldn't ha-" i start saying but she kissed me. "i love you y/n." i blurt out. "i love you too jj." she whispers.

i rest my forehead on hers. no matter what, i'll always be there for here.
