The first formula one race of the two thousand and twenty-three season was set to take place in Bahrain from March third to fifth, even though that was quite far away from now. But his trainer was pushing Charles to his limits during the workouts, although he needed to be trained well to do well in upcoming races.
His whole body was sore from all of the work Charles would put into each exercise. But the body part that hurt the most was his neck, multiple kilograms were forcing his head in one direction while he had to keep his head aligned with the rest of his body.
On the other hand, Alana was sick of attending her college classes although it was her last year and she only had less than five months left before she graduated. Each lesson seemed to be harder than the last one, the math was basic but the professors would speak way too fast for anyone to learn and understand anything that was going on.
For Alana, it felt like high school all over again. Nobody seemed to care about her, and even when she lived in a dorm, her roommate would only talk to her occasionally whenever she needed anything.
So because of all this built-up stress on the two adults, Charles decided to invite Alana over to drink with him. And to his luck, she accepted her request without any hesitation.
"Oh my goodness, I just remembered something!" Charles's greenish-blue eyes brightened up, "What is it?" Alana took a sip of her glass of Cognac, "I... don't know! I forgot..." he sighed running her hands through her hair. "Oh well," Alana placed her hand softly on Charles's cheek. "You look beautiful all intoxicated." she bit her lip.
Alana never felt as bold as she did at that moment. Maybe it was the alcohol taking over her body, or her being touch-starved, but everything about the man sitting next to her on his couch made her think certain thoughts.
"Alana," Charles dragged out her name, "You're one of my best friends, you know that right?"
She did know that, and Charles was her best friend since they were young due to their parents being close. And although Alana didn't romantically like Charles, her heart felt the tiniest of crushed for no reason.
"Mhm, I need more to drink." she got up stumbling quite a bit, "Don't you think you had too much to drink?" Charles grabbed her wrist before she could start walking over to the kitchen island to get another bottle that was set out. "Nuh-uh," Alana shook her head.
Even though Charles was slightly drunk and most likely would remember this night, Alana was on the brink of being black-out drunk if she had any more alcohol.
So Charles slowly stood up before saying, "Let's get you to bed," "One more shot please!" Alana whined as Charles picked up the girl into a cradle. "Charles! My throat feels weird, I can feel stuff slowly coming up. What is that called?" her hands ran through his face and hair. "You're going to throw up?" he chuckled. "Yes! Throw up!" Alana gagged.
He quickly walked to the bath in his room, luckily making it in time before Alana threw up in her toilet with Charles holding her hair back. It wasn't a pleasant sight or smell but Charles had to man up and deal with it.
Close to five minutes had passed in constant vomiting, but Alana finally finished before her eyes began to flutter. "I'm tired, Charlie." she laid her head on his chest, "I think I might fall asleep right here."
This was true, not even a minute passed and Alana was passed out against Charles. "Oh god please help me," he mumbled slowly picking her up and walking over to his bed before placing Alana on it softly.
Charles ended up having to take off Alana's blue jeans and crop top before putting her in one of his plaid pajama pants and a regular white shirt he found somewhere in his closet.
Afterward, Charles changed his clothes before getting in bed with his current best friend, but making sure to leave space in case she gets sick.
