Whispers

"Finally," Ardiem uttered.

Nakangiti akong tinignan siya. He ran his fingers to fold our hands together at nang lumapag ang private plane ay agad binuhat ni Ardiem si Matthew. He was sleeping deeply at gusto laging magpakarga kay Ardiem.

"How are you feeling now?"

May pag-aalala sa mukha niya pero agad ko rin hinaplos ang pisngi niya just to make him relax.

"I'm fine, don't think too much hon."

Then, flashes of scene appeared to my head once again. I tightly closed my eyes and shook my head.

"Is there something wrong? Did you forget something? Stay here, I'll call the pilot."

Ardiem quickly put his palm on my forehead.

"Probably jetlag."

"Are you sure? Tell me so I can call the doctor."

I nodded. "Mawawala rin 'to mamaya, tara na? We need to put Matthew on the bed."

As the car took us to our hotel here in Siargao, I was thinking about the scene that flashed through my head earlier. I was surrounded by many people, staring at me.

"Hon? You look weary. You should go to sleep with Matthew, besides her nanny will be here soon."

Tinignan ko si Ardiem and I caressed his broad shoulders. He was changing his clothes right now at kita ko ang mga peklat sa likod niya. How could I be so lucky to have him by my side?

"Hindi ako makatulog." Tumayo ako at nagpunta sa veranda.

The breeze of the wind caressed me while the oceans were waving at me. The island itself was a private one and it was owned by my husband. The scenery was perfect enough for tourist to enjoy themselves with their families.

I noticed that he was on his laptop again.

"It's our vacation. Time to relax, hon." I caressed his arms and smiled at him.

"I'm sorry, there's just too many things to settle at the new branch in Palawa, hon."

"I know. Can you just give the three days to us? Remember you promised Matthew about this vacation so why not make it worthy right?"

He nodded and let me sit on his lap. He played with my fingers and saw the wedding ring.

Ardiem smiled. "I know from the day I saw you; this ring will perfectly fit on you." Then he kissed my hand once again. "Thank you, Vika,"

"It's been five years..."

"Sometimes I even asked myself if I deserve someone like you. I mean you are really a perfect guy walking right to me, through storms and low tides. Can you imagine that?" then I giggled.
