During the loud chaos that Bakugou's speech resulted in, I heard a ding. I furrowed my eyebrows, opening the message.

I swallowed the lump in my throat that built up. I didn't want to think too much about what that is supposed to actually mean. My heart would start beating like crazy otherwise, remembering how the system literally threatened to kill me during the exams. It was not my friend.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Ashido asked. Fuck, did I let it show on my face?

"Yeah, just nervous." She nodded, understanding.

The first game is what you would call a qualifier. An obstacle race. All 11 classes will have to participate in it. The course will be the outer circumference of the stadium which was about four kilometers. Every student made their way towards the giant entrance, which was supposed to be the beginning of the course. People pushed and pulled to get to the front. I stayed behind because if Todoroki's ice got to me, I'd be stuck in place like the rest.

It was like ants swarming to get out of an ant farm.

I took a deep breath. I won't finish in the top ten, no way. I do not need any spotlight on me.

One...

"Start!!" Midnight yelled, the crowd cheered and everybody started to run. I used my quirk and a portal appeared in front of me. I put my arm into it, shuffling around before pulling out a pair of ice skates meant for hockey.

'Let's hope that I can still do this properly.' Though I was never good at skating, Sarah was a big fan of hockey, so our friend group would often go to the ice ring and mess around. Todoroki used his quirk and it reached all the way to where I was standing. Just a couple steps more and I'd be stuck too.

Fortunately, everybody tried running away from the middle so there was a nice space for me and the rest of the students that were behind everyone to get through.
