Chapter Two; A girl?
November 8, 2020.
3:15 AM."M-mommy." I felt my shoulder shake, making my droopy eyes slowly open. I saw my four year old daughter standing in front of me, tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong honey?" I asked, rubbing my eyes with my hands.
"I had a bad dream," her lip quivered, making my heart break. My baby girl. "Can I sleep with you mommy? Pwease?"
I nodded my head, "Yes, of course you can." I smiled, pushing back her curly hair. "Do you have Miss Bear?" I asked, remembering the teddy bear mom bought for her the day she was born.
"Mhm." She nodded, crawling into my bed with me. I flipped over, facing her.
"I love you Ariel."
"I love you mommy." She scooted closer to me, her forehead pressed against mine. "My dream was really scary."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Some bad people took me away from you and I wasn't allowed to ever see you ever again."
"Aw, baby," I frowned, kissing her nose, "mommy will never leave you, I promise you."
"Pinky promise?"
I stuck out my pinky, interlacing hers with mine.
"Pinky promise," she giggled, making me smile. "Now let's go to bed because you have school tomorrow and mommy has work."
"Ok, good night, I love you."
"I love you." I chuckled, wrapping my arm around her small body.
8:45 AM.
"Have fun at school sweetie." I smiled, waving bye to Ariel. Her teacher had her hand. She blew me a kiss, making me smile.
"Love you!" She yelled back before she entered her school building.
I pulled away, turning the radio up. I had to skip through a few before I found a station that was actually playing music.
Soon enough, that small amount of happiness left my body when it went to a commercial, too. I groaned, not bothering to mess with it.
"This just in!" A man's voice came through the radio, making me grow more annoyed. I listen to the radio to hear music, not listen to people talk! "Justin Bieber and his long time girlfriend, Grace Finny are now enga-" I flipped the radio off, my heart dropping to my stomach.
Soon, I pulled into the driveway of the first house I was showing to a couple. I was a little early so I sat in my car, flipping through stations again. Another DJ mentioned Justin and I just turned my car off.
Leaning over, I opened my glove box, grabbing out a very crumpled piece of paper.
'I'm sorry.'
The words run through my head over and over and over again.
There was a knock on my window and I was greeted by a blonde woman who looked overly happy. I opened my car door, plastering a smile on my face.
"Hi, I'm Carter Bianchi," I stuck out my hand, shaking hers.
"Hi, I'm Grace and my fiancé is over there," she pointed towards a car, giggling, "he forgot his wallet."
When he stood up, I felt my heart momentarily stop beating.
"Justy! Look, this is our real estate agent."
"Carter?" He said questioningly, his eyebrows raised.
