C A R O L I N E

Harry and I decide to take the walk to Lucy's slow so that we have the opportunity to enjoy every single moment of it. Everything feels like it's slowly coming back to normal- even though neither of us can push away what happened.

We talk about everything. Memories, (most of Harry's consist of Niall), our opinions on love at first sight, bananas and occasionally the subject of the Mighty and Courageous kingdoms. That last one leads to an awkward silence between us for a while and I think we can both agree that we don't consider ourselves neither anymore.

After a while, we arrive at Lucy's front door. It is around one in the morning given how high the moon is set in the night sky. Harry notices how nervous I look so he laces his fingers with mine, giving me a small reassuring nod. I heave a deep breath before rapping on the cedar wood door.

My teeth start to grit unexpectedly as I hear muffled footsteps from inside the house after a few minutes. Lucy appears at the door with an annoyed, tired expression- dressed in her pajama bottoms, silk robe and rabbit slippers.

"What the hell, who would knock on the door at such a late- Oh my gosh! What happened to you two?!" She yelps as quiet as possible, finally seeing Harry and I. Looking to my side, I take in Harry's state- hunched and injured posture, large bump on the forehead, tousled dirty curls, bruised black eye, ripped clothing and bloody skin.

I guess he does look pretty bad.

Lucy's eyes are wide as she reaches to touch the cut on Harry's nose but he flinches away in pain. "We'll explain later. Listen, would you mind if we hide here?" He asks softly, his voice cracking from thirst probably.

"Hide here from who?" She questions him.

"King Ivan and Desmond." I jump in to answer her. "They did some pretty terrible things to us so we escaped."

Lucy's mouth hangs wide open but no words leave past it. Her facial expression is blank as she scrutinizes me from head to toe. I look the same as Harry; not as bad though.

"Yeah. Okay." She says quickly, inviting us into the house. She fetches both Harry and I a glass of water after seating us down on the couch. Harry chugs his down pretty quickly so I offer him some of mine as well, but I didn't expect him to drink all of it. I glare at him but a weak smile graces his lips, causing my seriousness to disappear quite fast.

"Hey, I can get you more water if you like." Lucy offers and I nod her thanks.

"More water would be lovely, thank you." Lucy leaves the room with the empty glass. After a few minutes, she comes back with my water, a banana and a cereal bar.

"Sorry, it was the best I could find right now," Lucy apologizes, chuckling lighting. Harry grins from ear to ear when she tosses him the banana.

"Ooh, banana!" He says with excitement, his eyes lighting up as he peels the banana and finishes it off in three bites. "Damn it's been so long." He moans in satisfaction, chewing the fruit.

I nibble on the cereal bar. "Now tell me what happened." Lucy demands, yawning shortly after and sits down opposite us.

Harry sighs shakily. "I was imprisoned in Amsterdam and Caroline was held hostage in the kingdom of Mightera."

Lucy blinks at him, a questionable look on her face.

She flicks her finger in mid air. "First of all, why were you in Amsterdam?" I turn my head to look intently at him as well, with the same question in mind. He never told me this.
