Emily couldn't take her eyes off the sight in front of her. Michelle excitedly gestured as she explained the vision she had for her tour, her smile brighter than ever. She loved seeing Michelle like this, eyes bright and cheeks pink as she darted around Studio 1. It's been a few months since they'd last seen each other and Emily couldn't help but focus on how good Michelle looked.
Her hair was slightly longer than it had been when she'd left, it seemed almost brighter now, blonder than before. But then again, everything seemed brighter when she looked at Michelle, it was like she lit up whatever room she was in without even knowing it. This tour really seemed to be something she was passionate about and Emily couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for being the one to take it away from her.
When Michelle had first approached her asking for advice about the contract for her new dance tour, the last thing Emily was expecting was for her to drop out of it completely. She couldn't help but wonder if she was too harsh in her approach. Maybe she was too critical of what was written in the contract. All she wanted was to get Michelle the best deal she possibly could have because Michelle deserves it. She hates that she may have messed it all up for her by being too analytical.
"-And then, I had two solos prepared." Emily zones back into the conversation. "So, I have a contemporary solo and then I have a jazz, fiery solo that's like a big, epic moment for the end of the first half of the show." Michelle circles around her as she continues explaining her vision. Emily feels herself smile slightly at what she is hearing. She's always loved how passionate Michelle has been about dance, and hearing all these big ideas makes her want to help her expand on them, to build something bigger. Everything about Michelle makes her want to dream bigger, it's just the effect she has.
"You know what you could have done?" Michelle looks at her expectantly as the words leave her mouth. "You could have gotten a local dance troupe to dance with you, you know, like at every stop?" It's almost like she can see Michelle light up at her words, excitement brewing behind her eyes. "Promotion wise, it's genius and- "
"Oh! And I have this amazing finale prepared. It was my favourite dance that I did." Michelle seemed giddy as she spoke, almost nervous. She had stopped moving around the studio now and instead, had opted to play with her fingers, something Emily knew for a fact she did when she was nervous. Emily pauses for a fraction of a second, smiling softly, silently edging Michelle to continue.
"Do you maybe want to see it?" A familiar buzz began to fill the air.
"Yeah. Yeah, I do," Emily was maybe a little too quick to answer the question, but she didn't care. And seemingly, neither did Michelle. The other girl smiled at her before rushing off to connect the music she needed to the speaker system.
Emily moves herself off to the side, allowing Michelle as much space as she needed for the routine. Before long, the familiar tune of Fire filled the room and Michelle started on her dance. She was magnetic, Emily couldn't help but follow every single move Michelle made as she crossed the floor. It was like she'd been put in a trance. Seeing Michelle perform was always a privilege to Emily, it was as if seeing directly into her soul, her movements always revealing the inner workings of her brain whether she liked it or not. Emily couldn't get enough of it, drinking up every single one of her movements like she was about to die of dehydration.
So caught up in Michelle's movements, she barely registered the other girl's hand on her own, pulling her onto the floor. She smiled as she spun around. Michelle's magnetic force pulled her in closer as she danced lightly, the dress she was wearing limiting her ability to do anything too crazy. It had been years since the two of them had danced together and honestly, Emily had forgotten how much she loved dancing with Michelle. The two laughed together, leaning into each other as the song came to an end. She feels Michelle's warm hand leave her back as fast as it was placed there.
