"You know, I put this movie on for both of us to enjoy. Not just me," Giselle giggles as she pauses the movie they were supposed to be watching and turns to face Amanda.

"I'm sorry, I just..." She trails off, chewing the inside of her cheek.

"I know," she replies sadly, grabbing Amanda's hand with her own. Her thumb lightly brushes over Amanda's knuckles in an attempt to soothe the taller girl and Amanda just sighs, trying to allow herself to bask in the moment.

Giselle plants a light kiss on the back of her hand and it sends a surge of electricity through Amanda's nerves. She feels the pit in her stomach open up even wider than it already was. It was all starting to sink in. Come morning, they would be broken up and there was nothing she could do about it.

She registers the sound of the movie resuming its run and she knew she should be paying attention but instead, she couldn't take her eyes off of the girl lying next to her.

The room is mostly dark, the only source of light being the TV screen in front of them and a small lamp on Giselle's nightstand that partially illuminates her features. Her red hair is sprawled across the pillows spread behind them, her messy curls creating a sea of red against the white fabric.

Amanda notices the way Giselle's chest rises and falls with every breath she takes. She notices the way her blue eyes light up whenever the two characters on screen share a moment. And most importantly, she notices the way Giselle's thumb never stops ghosting over the back of her hand.

Amanda begins to chew the inside of her cheek once again as she just stares at the redheaded girl next to her. She hated that Giselle had to leave for tour. And she hated even more so the fact that she was seemingly unable to enjoy their last night together because she should be enjoying this moment. But she just can't.

Of course, she was happy for Giselle. This tour was the first step in her dream of becoming a professional dancer. But Amanda was selfish, wanting nothing more than for Giselle to stay. To stay with her.

They had auditioned for the tour together and while Amanda was thrilled that Giselle was able to become part of it, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness that they weren't in it together. Because if they were in it together, then they wouldn't have to break up.

"'Mands are you okay?" Giselle's voice breaks Ananda from her deep thought. She notices the credits rolling across the screen and realises just how long she had been lost in her thoughts.

She offers Giselle a weak smile but the redhead only frowns in return. Her blue eyes laced with concern as she brings Amanda in for a gentle hug.

"I love you," Amanda breathes into Giselle's shoulder. She wishes her words could be enough to make Giselle stay but it wouldn't be fair to ask that of her. Giselle needed to do this for herself and for her career and Amanda knows that. She just wishes it didn't have to be so soon.

"I love you, too," she presses a light kiss to the top of Amanda's head and Amanda all but melts. "Besides, I'll be back a few months and with you being back in A-Troupe, you won't even notice that I'm gone." She brushes Amanda's hair behind her ear and Amanda leans into the touch.

"I notice every time you're gone, even if it's just for an hour." She reaches up and places her hand on top of where Giselle's is currently cupping her cheek. "A-Troupe won't be the same without you. I won't be the same without you."

Their faces were now mere centimetres apart and tears have started welling in Amanda's eyes. Giselle used her thumb to wipe away one that ran down her cheek.

"It's for the best, 'Mands. You know how hard the distance was when you were in Sweden, and that was only for a month. I'm going to be gone for 3 months at a time. It won't be good for either of us to try and stay together. I don't want you to always be waiting on me to come back when there are so many other people out there."
