=========================
It's been about a week or so since Doug saw the side of Jake that Margot fell in love with, not that he was an asshole or a joker before but Margot was right, as soon as her family would hear about what happed to Jake when he was a kid, their treatment to him would change, there aren't anymore digs about him being born a rich kid and being gifted everything, they respect him and can't be prouder he's marrying into the family.
Margot: You have to stop worrying...
Margot and Jake have been getting the house ready for their guests, Margot's family are coming from Australia, her mother and father are already here and set up in their rooms but with Margot's brother's and sister coming, they'll need to get those rooms sorted, luckily Jake's family already lives in New York so they won't be staying with them, meaning there's plenty of room left but that's not meaning Jake's not nervous.
Margot: ... They'll get along great.
Margot stopped him from pacing around pottering with her hands on his arms before they moved up to hold his face, forcing him to look at her, Jake just wants everything to go smoothly, her family can be quite out spoken, most Australian's can, he just doesn't want a simple joke or a misunderstanding to come between their families, their child is meant to bring them all together not push them further apart.
Jake: I know. I just worry a lot.
Margot chuckled to him a little before tip toeing into a kiss, it was enough to make Jake smile and look down to her slightly forming bump, it's a scary thing watching their child grow more and more, Jake's excited, he's really excited but he's also scared, he didn't get a father figure till he was a teenager, he doesn't want to screw this up.
Margot: They'll be fine.
Jake nodded to her, agreeing with her, he does think they will, his parents and Kelly are good people, so are her brothers and sister, they've met them all, they just haven't met each other, Jake's heard of these things going wrong all the time, mostly between the parents but even though he knows everything will go smoothly, there's still that small bit of doubt in the back of his mind that won't let him be excited to see all their family in one place.
Cameron: Jake! Alright mate?
Jake smiled when Margot opened the door to her brother and sister, Jake's met them before so the big hug Cameron gave him was a bit of a surprise, not an unwelcome one, just something he's never got before, Margot was left smiling while she greeted her sister Anya next, Jake was eventually put back to his feet after a moment leaving Jake to give Anya a hug next.
Margot: Where's Lachlan?
Cameron shrugged because he came from LA not Australia where their family lives, instead he stood by Jake while Anya was the one who told her, Doug and Sarie was already around pottering with stuff, Doug's heartset on getting the grill going before the Autumn fully kick in and the cold comes with it.
Anya: He still can't make it. He'll come to see you when he can though.
Margot knew that, her family are busy people and they can't just drop everything to come over here to see them as soon as she ask them too, Margot understands that and so do they, they'll be times when Margot and Jake will plan to go over there or to visit his family but then things will just come up meaning that can't make the trip, they all understand and no one is mad at the other for not being able to make it, Lachlan will meet their baby at some point.
Cameron: Where'd you keep the booze Jake?
Cameron tapped his shoulder before walking towards the kitchen, Jake fumbled with his words a little making Anya and Margot chuckle, Jake's not used to them being this nice to him, it's caught him off guard but the last thing he wants is for them to feel sorry for him, Jake wouldn't be who he is today if not for those things and now that the world knows about them, he feels a lot more relaxed.
