My Obsession

Chapter 3 Liam

I only got to look at her beauty for a second before she mumbled something to me and took off. I tried to run after her to see if she was ok but there were too many people and she got lost in the crowd. I have honestly never seen someone so breathtaking. Shit, I'm not going to be able to get her out of my head.

Cory and I found seats in our first class right before the professor walked in. My first ever college class, Romance Language and Literature. I'm majoring in literature, but I'm not sure what I want to do with it. I'm really only in college because my parents say it's a necessity. They're paying for it, so whatever makes them happy, I guess.

I'm trying to concentrate and take notes on what we'll be discussing throughout the semester, but my mind keeps going back to that night. Her face looked so scared I had the urge to wrap her in a hug and tell her everything would be ok. I wish she would have at least let me apologize. Hopefully, I'll see her again, but this campus is so big that I'm not very optimistic.

"Hello, earth to Liam. We've been dismissed. Are you just going to sit there dreaming about your wanna be girlfriend or come get lunch with me?" Cory said as he waved his hand in front of my face.

"Haha, very funny. Maybe I was thinking how I'm going to get you back for saran wrapping my toilet. I should've made you come clean my bathroom this morning."

"Come on, dude, that was funny, and you know it. Also, pranks against me are not something you're going to win, so pick your battles. Now let's get food. I'm starving."

We walked into the little diner down the street and slid into a booth with Matt and Atticus. They were arguing over who had the best burp.

"Mine lasted a good twelve seconds longer than yours did, Matt. Now give me a crown." Atticus said as he took a "crown" they made out of napkins from Matt.

Cory laughed. "What's up guys? Burp-olympics again? Let me chug a soda and I can beat all of you." I shook my head while I grinned at my group of friends.

Then I saw her, sitting alone in a corner booth with her head buried in a book. I'm so captivated by her beauty that I can't seem to take my eyes off of her.

Atticus threw his wadded up straw wrapper at my face. "Hey, lover boy, why don't you just go say hi?"
